SELENA GOMEZ GETS SOPHISTICATED ON THE COVER OF ELLE MEXICO

She may have just turned 19 last week, but teen queenSelena Gomez is showing her adult side on the new cover of ELLE Mexico.

The always ravishing teen, who is also of Mexican descent, is rocking a floppy mauve hat and a form-fitting, navy blue pantsuit with a statement belt. While that might sound like something your mother would wear and while it’s certainly a more mature look forJustin Bieber‘s lady love, take a peek at the cover image. There’s no denying that Gomez looks gorgeous no matter what she wears. We love seeing a grown up Gomez in this cover shot. It’s fresh and unexpected.

We have to go on record and voice how proud we are of Gomez for going in a bit of a different direction than her pop tart peers. So many teen singers position themselves as jail bait on magazine covers, wearing skimpy, sloppy and often age inappropriate attire.

On the ELLE Mexico cover, Gomez looks like a bona fide model. While her outfit skews a bit older, you cannot deny that it highlights her killer curves.

Gomez’s cover also reminds that us that you are as young as you feel and that you can still be beautiful while covering up. It’s not always about showing skin and making pulses race. With her positive, ‘learn to love yourself’ anthem ‘Who Says’ and the way she conducts herself in the press, Gomez truly is the perfect role model for teenage girls. Parents probably love hearing their children sing along to Gomez’s songs.

Emma’s Favourite Premiere Dress

Over the past decade Emma Watson has worn dresses from top fashion designers to the Harry Potter premieres, but she says the one that will always be special to her is the vintage purple gown she wore to the UK premiere of Prisoner of Azkaban.

“I’ve loved every dress I’ve worn for a premiere but probably the best is the purple dress from the 1920s. My mum and I found it in a vintage shop. It was torn but we had it repaired. The one rip we couldn’t mend we covered with a corsage. We dyed shoes to match and found vintage silk flowers for my hair. That was the first time I felt I was creating my own look so, although it wasn’t perfect by any means, that dress will always be special to me.”

Emma is comfortable in ‘vintage’ to ‘cutting edge’, but for everyday wear she likes simple.

“I love modern designers like Alberta Ferretti. And right now, I’m very big on Valentino. But for everyday wear, the items I couldn’t live without are a pair of basic black cropped trousers and a pair of ballet pumps. You can’t go wrong with those – they’re the basis of everything.”

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, who made her modelling debut with British luxury fashion house Burberry, now wants to show off her skills as a fashion designer.

The 21-year-old, who rose to fame after playing Hermione Granger, one of three starring roles in the Harry Potter film series, has been taking fabric-cutting, design and sewing classes.

"Emma wants to challenge herself creatively. She's obsessed with art at the moment. She's already designed a line of T-shirts and wants to expand her skills to create bespoke evening wear," dailyamail.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

"She looks up to designers such as Georgina Chapman and Sarah Burton.She has also been studying the work of Joan Miro to inspire her," the source added.

Executive producer Julie Plec has shared some insider information about season three, and starts by talking about Elena and Damon's smooch at the end of season two.

"I felt like it was something that needed to happen to end Damon’s story line for the season," said Julie.

"His entire journey had been, “I’m not worthy of you” and at the end of the season, as he’s dying, she tells him, “Yes, you are; you’re worthy.”

For her to be able to show that in a sweet kiss, telling him that she likes him the way he is and he doesn’t need to change for her, I thought was really important and a really nice ending to that journey.

"Of course, in their world, the end of any journey opens up the beginning of a whole lot of drama.

"There are a lot of complicated feelings attached to that moment, the biggest being that Stefan was off saving Damon’s life while Damon was confessing, yet again, his love for his brother’s girlfriend.

"There’s going to be a sense of obligation and guilt attached to it, but Damon does what Damon’s going to do.

For now, Elena’s boyfriend is gone, possibly dead, and Damon’s there as a friend trying to help her save Stefan, and anything can happen there."

Season three of Vampire Diaries begins with Elena's very eventful 18th birthday party, and Julie's remaining pretty mysterious about whether Stefan will be back for the event.

"When we come back, no one will have heard from him," she says.

"No one will have seen him and the audience won’t know where he’s been, and what he’s going through is going to be pretty surprising."

"One of the little big moments [in the episode] is wondering what Damon gives Elena for her birthday and if Stefan makes an appearance to blow out the candles on the cake."

My career option will be acting: Selena Gomez

Ninteen-year-old American actress-singer Selena Gomez, who is now focussing on a music career, has launched her new album and says that in the long run she would take acting as a full-fledged career. 

"It's been two-and-a-half to three years that I have been acting and singing. However, I feel most likely in terms of a longer career span, it would be acting," Gomez told IANS in an email interview from Texas.

She began her acting career at the age of seven, with "I - Barney & Friends" and recently featured in movies like "Ramona and Beezus" and " Monte Carlo".

Best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series "Wizards of Waverly Place", Gomez is the lead singer and founder of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which has released "Kiss & Tell" and "A Year Without Rain".

Talking about her new album "When The Sun Goes Down", Selena said that "the music in the album is kind of a way to express that it's really fun. 'Who Says' is a powerful song and I love that my fans can have that to listen to. There are songs like 'My Dilemma', 'Bang Bang Bang', and 'Love you like a love song'.

When quizzed about her much-publicized relationship with teen pop icon Justin Bieber, Selena said: "I'd say it's nice to have someone who knows what you're going through."

From Akon to Bryan Adams, several international artists have been coming to India to perform and now Gomez is also keen to do so. She says she would also love to work with Indian artistes.

"I don't know a lot about India. I know many artists are performing there and I would like to visit India, may be some time in future as and when the opportunity comes my way.

"I would also like to collaborate with some Indian artistes at a later stage," said the singer.
