Nick Jonas told his fans to expect big news, and now we know it has nothing to do with his relationship to 26-year-old girlfriend Delta Goodrem! The 18-year-old singer announced Sept. 7 that he's returning to Broadway to replace Daniel Radcliffe in the critically acclaimed revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Radcliffe will take his final bow as J. Pierrepont Finch in December, and then Glee star-Harry Potter fanboy Darren Criss will star in a limited three-week run Jan. 3-22, 2012. Jonas will take over the role Jan. 24, 2012 through July 1. Unlike Radcliffe, who made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning production (his co-star John Larroquette won the 2011 statuette for Best Featured Actor in a Musical), Jonas is a musical-theater veteran.
Jonas has performed on the Great White Way three times already: he made his debut at age 8 in 2001's Annie Get Your Gun revival, then played Chip the following year in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and then memorably starred as the young Gavroche in Les Miserables in 2003. In 2010, Jonas was even asked to play Marius in the special 25th Anniversary production of Les Miz in London. But Finch would be his first leading role as an adult.
"So excited & honored to play the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying next year!" he twittered yesterday afternoon.
