Selena Gomez was all over the Colorado Fairgrounds, but the celebrity hadn't arrived yet. It was a talent contest at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday with hundreds of fans vying for a chance to meet the Disney star.
In what a tense competition, the contestants lined up and were given one minute to give their best impression. The acts could sing or dance, but at the end of their 60 seconds the judges needed convincing it was close to Selena Gomez to get the prize. Four judges decided the first round of 100 people with 10 being picked out for the audience to help decide, and in the end, one winner got to meet the Disney superstar at her sold out show.
The talent contest was entirely about the star—from the way she sang, to what she wore, and how she interacted with others. Known from the Wizards of Waverly Place as well as on stage with her band, The Scene, only the serious fan could win such a big prize.
Haleigh Stewart from Parker, Colorado, won the contest after the two and a half hours of competition. Taking to the stage with a Selena Gomez costume and act, she got the approval of the judges and the audience, leaving the rest to admire just how hard it is to imitate such a big superstar, while Haleigh got to meet the celebrity.
