Paramore "laugh" about comparisons between them and Avril Lavigne.
The band's guitarist Taylor York said the group - fronted by Hayley Williams - used to put up a fight when people spoke about them in the same light as female singers, such as Kelly Clarkson, but now they just laugh off the comparisons.
He said: "Since we have a girl singer we get compared to Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson. We'll always get compared to any girl-fronted band.
"We used to try to fight it and be like, 'No, we're different'. Now we just laugh about it because people are always going to compare us to people we don't think we sound like."
The 21-year-old musician says the group - which includes bassist Jeremy Davis, but who lost two members Josh and Zac Farro when in December 2010 - are currently in "a better place" than ever before.
He added to watchmojo.com: "We're in a better place than we've ever been. We're really fortunate to have come out where we are and just thankful that our fans have been supportive through that. We have no intentions of stopping."
