RANGO movie review

If plan A falls through, plan B can be a life saver…if you can shatter glass with your high pitched voice. That doesn’t sound like the best way out of a situation, but “Rango” makes if look funny, although not as much. Johnny Depp may have given voice to his fellow creature, but that doesn’t make Rango more than you might expect. I actually enjoyed the trailer better than the actual feature, which failed to keep me in the mood for surprises and even connection.
“Rango” is very cute, but not smart enough to keep my attention alive, giving me moments of surprise yawning and boredom. The story is very simple and that shouldn’t stop an animation from being creative and engaging. But that did not happened to this one, making Rango just cute and passable. The characters are not memorable, which is a shame, given the fact that they try quite hard. And if you can spare some time for a lesson that is not that fresh, “Rango” might be able to make you smile.
Is that enough? Maybe you can decide it for yourself.
