Brighter than the sun by Julia Quinn book review

Husbands don’t grow on trees…but apparently they fall from them, especially when roaringingly drunk. This is something that Miss Ellie Lyndon finds out the hard way when Charles Wycombe, Earl of Billington, falls from an oak tree and straight on her toes, then not long after proceeds to make an offer of marriage. Although completely foxed Charles thinks the very prickly but lovely Miss Lyndon will make a perfect wife, especially as he only has a few weeks to find one before he loses his fortune, but even he is taken by surprise when she accepts his offer and the marriage takes place. But as time progresses, they find that this marriage of convienence could be much more then they ever expected.

I find it so hard to rate a Julia Quinn book, I believe I have, without fail, enjoyed every single one I’ve ever laid my hands on. I know exactly what I will find when I draw back the cover of one of her romances; a quirky lovable heroine; a charming and cheeky hero and dialogue that is bound to leave me with a massive smile on my face, as well a sweet love story that is pure and brilliant brain candy. These books are never going to change the world, but they are well written and whilst I am reading them I can’t put them down and I always enjoy it. So that leaves me with the problem, what shall I rate it?

Brighter than the Sun made me laugh and Charles and Ellie were so adorable together and their banter was witty and well written. But, will I remember this book in 6 months time and be desparate to reread it? Probably not. But don’t let this put you off, it is a great book, it is the marshmallow of the book world it is fun, fluffy, sweet and would go great with a barbeque on the beach!

Nina Dobrev's On-Camera Is Perfected With Tips From Her MOTHER!!

The tantalizing TV starlet took her fabulousness to Conan last night, and you won't believe what she said!
If you've watched her delightfully deviant dramz about vexing vampires sucking sweet blood and making sweet love, this won't be much of a shock, but Nina says she's gotten down with each of her co-stars!!
She revealed:
"I'm pretty sure I've made out with every guy on the show. As my character, of course!"

If that sounds uncomfortable, though, you'll NEVER believe what Nina admitted next!
She continued:
"The awkwardness and the weirdness is when my mom comes to set and I have to do a sex scene or something. That can get kind of weird, but what's even weirder is when I come off set and she starts giving me notes: 'Arch your back more. It'll look sexier if you arch your back.' We're close!"

Kristen Stewart advised to have fun

Los Angeles: Actress Kristen Stewart`s mother has asked her to enjoy life and be with friends while boyfriend Robert Pattinson is away in Australia.

Stewart has been putting in too much effort to bring her rocky relationship with Pattinson back on track after she was caught cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders. However, her efforts have been going in vain.

Stewart`s mother Jules has advised her to do something besides thinking about him.

"Kristen is actually in really good spirits after taking her mom`s advice to just have fun and do normal things. It`s been tough with Rob away and for a while Kristen was down. Her mom has been encouraging Kristen to spend time with close friends like Taylor (Lautner) and to just live in the moment," hollywoodlife.com quoted a source as saying.

"It`s been so long that Kristen has just been a free spirit acting her age. Kristen is quite enjoying doing normal, everyday things. Staying busy and having fun with friends also keeps her distracted from thinking about Rob too much," the source added.

Pattinson is busy shooting for upcoming movie ‘The Rovers’ in Australia.

Justin Bieber Steps Out With Baby Brother Jaxon in Madrid

The "Boyfriend" singer stepped into the role of protective big brother on Thursday as he happily carried younger sibling Jaxon in his arms as he left his hotel in Madrid, Spain, the latest stop on what so far has been a tumultuous European tour.
Justin, 19, held his baby bro out before his Beliebers and the paparazzi, and other than covering his ears from all the noise, Jaxon was all smiles as he and the rest of Justin's close-knit clan stayed by the singer's side prior to Thursday's gig in the Spanish capital.
Jaxon is Justin's 3-year-old half-brother, born to his father, Jeremy Bieber, and his father's wife. The teen idol also has a 4-year-old half-sister, Jazmyn "Jazzy" Bieber.
Jeremy, the kids and Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, were in town to support the hitmaker after the rough week he had, which included collapsing onstage in London, lunging at the paparazzi, canceling a concert in Portugal and battling reports he's out of control and rehab-bound.
The crooner was so ticked off by those rumors he ended up posting a lengthy rant on Instagram, only to take more heat for lashing out at Lindsay Lohan's financial situation. He subsequently apologized.

Miley Cyrus has yet to cancel her wedding date

Miley Cyrus reportedly still hasn’t cancelled her wedding to Liam Hemsworth.

People magazine reports the 20-year-old star is “clinging to the hope” of a reconciliation with the actor.

A source told the website that the couple have “split for now,” adding that Miley “seems exhausted” after events of recent weeks.

"She has no plans to see Liam but seems to be clinging to hope that they will get back together," the insider said. "Miley hasn't cancelled the wedding."

Liam, 23, has been relaxing in a new $1.6 million bachelor pad in his native Australia which his parents reportedly purchased for him last year.

The Hunger Games star has been spending time with friends and family in the beachside home, keeping a “low profile”, according to E! News.

"He seems in a relaxed mood — he doesn't seem especially sad [or] happy. He seems to be enjoying seeing his family as far as we can tell," a source told the website.

The famous couple were hit by reports that Liam was caught in a clinch with Mad Men star January Jones at a pre-Oscar soiree at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont last month.

Miley recently took to her Twitter page to deny reports of a split but has since been pictured without her engagement ring.

Beck anime review

Synonyms: Beck - Mongolian Chop Squad
Type: TV
Episodes: 26
Status: Finished Airing
Aired: Oct 7, 2004 to Mar 31, 2005
Producers: Madhouse Studios, Marvelous Entertainment, Starchild Records, FUNimation EntertainmentL, Asatsu DK, Kodansha
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Music, Shounen, Slice of Life
Duration: 25 min. per episode
Rating: R - 17+ (violence & profanity)

First of all, it is much better than expected. The storyline was so interesting and wonderfully executed, that I even disregarded the sub par drawing style . I like the idea of a band struggling to make it big not only in Japan, but as well as in America.

I was instantly drawn into it through the main character Koyuki (Yukio) and his feeling of emptiness at the beginning about how he didn't see his place in the world, and then finding it by being introduced to a well known bandand falling in love with music. Ruyuuske is the average underground musician in the beginning with his experience. The story is about Ruyuuske creating a new band out of nothing after his old one falls apart and starts a rivalry between him and the other guitarist, which always happens betweens underground musicians. upon the 2 of them meeting they have a rocky friendship which in the end works out as they both complete the new band together and set off to try and make it in scene.

Art- the dark tones and colors really put you in the mood for whats happening. You can see the cold and somewhat dampness to the streets and alleyways. the darkened clubs and bright school atmosphere perfectly give the feel of the true life. Although some people have complained about the art being a little bad, i enjoyed the nice change up. And seeing places named after famous American clubs and other places added a type of comic relief of sorts.

Sound- Sound is a big one, especially for a music anime. I watched both versions, sub and dub, and i prefer the dub solely because of the music. The accents isn't what got to me about the sub it was the tone of voice. During supposed "in your face" songs the Japanese singer seemed lacking. Both versions had the acting done great, and the music quality pushed my rating up to 10.

Character- This is the part that seemed the most realistic to me. The band members being different from one another especially, never have ai seen a band with all the members listening to the same music. You have Chiba as the punk and Rap influenced singer, Koyuki Classic Rock Guitarist, Saku the Hard Rock Drummer, Tyra a New Wave bassist, and Ryuuske the Blues and rock lead Guitarist. Each one brings their own sound and feel and they combine them all for the bands sound. How the characters had their flaws, got on your nerves, and excited you seemed natural, like real people.

Enjoyment-  I enjoyed this anime a lot, I was drawn in and just couldn't stop watching. towards the end it just got better and better as the reality of the scene comes into play even more. The last couple of episodes could be seen as unexpected or a bummer of sorts, but hey, it happens

Opening titles:

PANSTARRS Is Here, Comet Is At Its Closest Distance To The Earth Today, Will Continue Brightening

Comet Pan-STARRS made its closest approach to the Earth today, coming as close as 100 million miles from us. Which is pretty close for an object which has spent the last 100,000 or so years way out towards the edges of the solar system, far past Pluto. Panstarrs will make its closest approach to the Sun (perihelion) on March 10th. It will continue brightening for the next week or so, peaking for those in the Northern Hemisphere around March 12th.

Comet PANSTARRS has actually brightened considerably over the past week, and is now set to fulfill the original predictions made about it. So it should put on a good show for those with a clear view of the horizon. It’s already easy to find in the sky from those in many regions of the Southern Hemisphere. And will become visible to those in the Northern Hemisphere on March 7th. It will be visible towards the west-southwest horizon for about an hour after sunset

Because of how erratically the comet has been behaving, it’s still somewhat up in the air how bright it will peak at. The comet expert John E. said: “Pan-STARRS has behaved so strangely up to this point that I would not completely discount anything; with perihelion passage so close now, I am anticipating the maximum brightness reached by the comet as between +1 and +1.3.”

Which would make the comet about as bright, or more so, than any star in the sky. But rather than being simply a star, it should possess a visible tail, made of the material that the Sun is blasting off of it.

Bottle continued: “This, of course, does not negate an outside possibility of the comet perhaps continuing to brighten for some days past perihelion.”
Another comet, Comet Lemmon, is also currently visible in the skies of the Southern Hemisphere, as the photo at top shows. That comet will continue brightening until March 24th.

The Last Exorcism Part 2 movie review

"The Last Exorcism Part II" is an effectively unnerving, slow-burn supernatural horror tale. The film is smartly different enough from the original to survive on its own, though it lacks some of the first film's sense of surprise.

Rather than the disorienting reversals of the first film — a faux documentary in which a team looking to debunk demonic possession comes across a story they can't explain away — "Part II" takes a conventional approach (no fake doc, no found footage) to its story. It picks up with the girl from the first film, Nell (Ashley Bell), seemingly free of the demon who possessed her and entering a transitional group home in New Orleans where she can try to build a new life. (Footage from the original film exists online within the world of the second, labeled "crazy girl possessed in woods.")

The sequel is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, who co-wrote the screenplay with Damien Chazelle. (Chazelle previously made the winsome jazz musical "Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench," which seems as unlikely a horror audition piece as one can imagine.) Both the first and second films are rated PG-13 but somehow the new film feels softer.

The first film was more messed up, existing in the register of crazy, and had a sexualized energy that is largely neutered in the second. A moment in the new film when a character slashes his own throat is handled in a way that is too discreet and bloodless, robbing the moment of its most visceral shock.

Just as in the first film, much of what works best in the new movie is thanks to Bell. She has an uncanny, quicksilver ability to flash between naiveté and a knowing darkness. Her physical contortions aren't used as much this time, but there is still a strong physicality to what she does.

Overlooking the semantic peculiarity in the title "The Last Exorcism Part II" — the inevitable sequel might be called "The Final Exorcism Again" — this movie isn't a waste of time. The film could actually stand to be a bit longer, as its final frenzy seems truncated somehow in relation to the methodical build-up that precedes it.

Twenties girl by Sophie Kinsella

Lara Lington has always had an overactive imagination, but suddenly that imagination seems to be in overdrive. Normal professional twenty-something young women don’t get visited by ghosts. Or do they?

When the spirit of Lara’s great-aunt Sadie—a feisty, demanding girl with firm ideas about fashion, love, and the right way to dance—mysteriously appears, she has one request: Lara must find a missing necklace that had been in Sadie’s possession for more than seventy-five years, because Sadie cannot rest without it.

Lara and Sadie make a hilarious sparring duo, and at first it seems as though they have nothing in common. But as the mission to find Sadie’s necklace leads to intrigue and a new romance for Lara, these very different “twenties” girls learn some surprising truths from and about each other. Written with all the irrepressible charm and humor that have made Sophie Kinsella’s books beloved by millions, Twenties Girl is also a deeply moving testament to the transcendent bonds of friendship and family.

While TWENTIES GIRL does have a bit of a poor beginning, I would urge you to bear with it, it’s a hugely entertaining, laugh-out-loud, romantic comedy with a ghostly sidekick. Or perhaps a ghostly heroine, depending on how you want to look at it. Kinsella knows how to write comedy, and write it really well.

Akuma to love song manga review

Synonyms: Devil and Love Song, Devil and Her Love Song
Type: Manga
Volumes: 13
Chapters: 91
Status: Finished
Published: Dec 2006 to Apr 5, 2011
Genres: Drama, Romance, School, Shoujo
Authors: Toumori, Miyoshi (Story & Art)
Serialization: Margaret

"Devil and Her Love Song" 's a refreshing shoujo manga because it escapes the usual stereotypes you can find in this genre. The main character, Maria Kawai, is quite original for a shoujo heroine. She's brutally honest, has no tact whatsoever, and is usually so serious she tends to be scary. She also seems harsh and rude. She was expelled from the exclusive St. Katrina's school (she claims it's because she beat up her teacher) and ends up in a regular high school where her bad reputation precedes her.

That's the surface, but this manga obviously invites the readers to dig a little deeper in their characters. The really insteresting aspect of Maria is her apparently lack of understanding of how the world works... She's actually so transparent, that she fails to act acordingly to what's socially acceptable. And just as layered as she is, you'll find that the other main characters are equally complex: a guy called Yuusuke who seems nice and cheerful but seems to hide a different character beneath; Megumu, the rude, antisocial loner who, despite himself, can't help but get tangled with Maria...

At least in the first two volumes, you only catch a glimpse of the true characters hiding beneath the exterior, and this proves to be very interesting: nothing is that obvious nor predictable, as it often happens in this sort of stories.

Often the mangaka can focus too much on the story and not enough on the art, or vice versa, but Toumori Miyoshi has it spot-on. The art style is one of my very favourites - close ups of the characters leaving me in awe of her work. She has a way of making every character portray exactly what she wants them too in every scene, almost like a movie, setting the mood with just a few body language changes, something rare to find (from what I've seen) in a manga.

This is not your average "bad girl/boy who is actually nice" plot. I'm curious to see where the story will go ( I am still reading), but be warned that this (at least for now) is a character driven plot. There's not much going on in matters of action or conflict. So far is mostly about showing the true nature of its characters, and that is done in a beautiful way, with gorgeous art to boost. It's a very enjoyable read and promises even more entertainment in what's to come

Ian Somerhalder Cheating On Nina Dobrev?

As far as TV stars and sex gods go, Ian Somerhalder is pretty eco friendly. Sure, he’s working in an industry that probably doesn’t always recycle the lights used on set—and do we really need to spend all that electricity for entertainment’s sake?—but Ian and his foundation seem to have made peace with Hollywood, if only because of the huge platform it gives their cause. Ian had a break from filiming this weekend, so he jetted from Atlanta down to New Orleans, where he attended a conference on climate chage. The actor loves keeping Twitter fans informed, and his top two girls were right alongside him in the twitterverse—and in real life!
Foundation employees Kim Klinger and Jessica Ramsey enjoyed a flirty, busy weekend with the sexy part-vampire part-billionaire executive .  The young blonde women seem to have had Ian all to themselves—girlfriend Nina Dobrev was nowhere in sight! Now, we’ve previously wondered if Ian and Nina may be headed into rough waters, as he seems so passionate about his green work, while Nina (based on her tweets, at least) is really more concerned about how to style bangs and exclusive Hollywood parties. Not to say she doesn’t seem quite nice, but relationships without a common goal are hard!
I’m starting to wonder if Ian has faked his public relationship with Nina for the sake of his environmental foundation and career. He may care about her—she may even be in on it—but the two don’t seem to spend a lot of time together outside of work. Then again, they could be genuinely busy with work stuff, and maybe Nina doesn’t tweet about green charities because her PR maven warned her about getting into politics. It’s impossible to say from the outside!

Robert Pattinson goes from vamp to tramp for latest movie Rover

TWILIGHT fans look away – Robert Pattinson has gone from smouldering vampire to filthy tramp, sporting a set of rotten teeth.
The actor, 26, was unrecognisable with a shaved head, dirty and baggy clothes and the unhealthy molars.
Rob, who was also spotted with his flies open, donned the new look to film his latest movie The Rover with co-star Guy Pearce in the Australian desert.
Guy, 45, plays Eric – a traveller who is forced to chase a ruthless gang of criminals after they steal his car.
He enlists the help of Reynolds – played by R-Patz – who is described as anaïve and injured junior member of the gang left behind after a robbery.

Justin Bieber apologises for arriving late during London gig

Popstar Justin Bieber has apologised to his fans for turning up late during a concert here.

The 19-year-old singer was expected to hit the stage at the O2 Arena at 8.30pm on Monday night and was allegedly booed by fans after he arrived late for the gig in O2 arena.

Bieber took to his twitter page to clarify about the delay.

"Last night I was scheduled after 3 opening acts to go on stage at 9:35 not 8:30 but because of some technical issues I got on at 10:10... so... I was 40 minute late to stage. There is no excuse for that I apologize for anyone we upset.

However, it was great show and I'm proud of that," Bieber tweeted.

"... and tonight we will run on time and look forward to putting on an amazing show for everyone in attendance.

The singer claimed that media exaggerated the incident.

"My relationship with the media is not always easy but I'm trying. I'm all about the music and the performance and I respect my fans. I never have any intent to upset or let anyone down and I'm not okay with things being exaggerated. once again sorry for anyone upset," he added later.

The show marked the first of four sold-out shows Bieber is playing at the O2 Arena in the British capital.

The concert follows a miserable 19th birthday weekend for Bieber which was ruined after he had fight with the club security where he was partying.

Selena Gomez Shoots New Music Video

Selena Gomez is trying to make herself seem more of an adult and scrape away her Disney past, but is this latest reveal a little much?

Selena has decided to look ASS-tronomical in her new music video, where her retro style revealed a bit of her butt cheeks on set in the desert in Palmdale, California on Mar. 4. The look is easily going to make people very interested in watching the sexy video — could one of them be Justin Bieber? One thing is for sure: She is making people talk about her, and that is exactly what she seems to be going for!

Selena Has Been Showing A Lot More Skin Lately!
Back on Feb. 10, during a post-Grammy Justin Timberlake concert, Selena tweeted a pic of herself, with the caption, “He’s bringing sexy back… And it’s about time!! @jtimberlake killed it!” But what was really sexy was her tight pencil skirt and colorful bustier that showed off her cleavage in the pic. She was definitely exposing more then we have been accustomed to of Selena in the past.

Selena Getting Sexier After Justin Bieber Break-Up!
Ever since Selena and Justin have been separated, they both have been showing off a lot more skin, which is definitely a sign they are trying to make each other jealous. It definitely looks like Selena seems to be winning with the latest pics from the Spring Breakers red carpets around the world and now this latest music video shoot.

Taylor Swift's response to naysayers

Singer Taylor Swift has opened up about her thoughts on people who have criticised her for penning down songs on her past relationships.

The 23-year-old feels it is sexist of people to look down upon it.

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," Vanity Fair magazine quoted Swift as saying.

Swift, who recently parted ways with singer Harry Styles, has dated Joe Jones, Taylor Lautner and Conor Kennedy in the past.

EMMA WATSON AND DANIEL RADCLIFFE BOTH TO STAR IN NEW BOOK-TO-FILM ADAPTATIONS OF CINDERELLA AND FRANKENSTEIN

NOT THE SAME MOVIE... 'CINDERSTEIN' WOULD BE WEIRD.

Seeing as they’ve graduated Hogwarts now and gone back to lives filled with general Muggle-ness, Emma Watson and Danielle Radcliffe are obviously missing being real life versions of book characters, as they’ve both signed up for new ‘book on the screen’ movie adaptations.

Hermione will be transforming into fairytale princess Cinderella, and ‘Arry Potter will be entering the creepy world of Frankenstein.

It’s all very exciting.

Emma is lined up for the starring role in Kenneth Branagh’s version of Cinderella, which is set to be a highly visual reworking of the fairytale. Think Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, or the new Oz The Great and Powerful flick. Cate Blanchett has already been cast as the evil stepmum, so it sounds like it should be rather brill.

Getcha glass slipper out for the lads.

Dan Rad will turn from fit Voldy-fighting super wizard to hideous hunchback, for his part in the new Frankenstein film, as he takes on the role of Igor, the lab assistant to Dr Franky.

According to The Wrap, Dan’s character will be "pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown's clothing". Which sounds quite frankly like some kind of TERRIFYING NIGHTMARE but also AWESOME.
