Taylor Swift spent Saturday evening in New York City. With her friend and former tourmate Ed Sheeran performing on "Saturday Night Live," Swift was not only in attendance but also made a cameo during host Seth Rogan's opening monologue.

But if you pegged the 24-year-old to stick around Sunday for a trendy brunch in the West Village, think again. Instead the songstress hopped aboard a plane, flew to Columbus, Ohio, and surprised a fan during her bridal shower.

"There's this girl named Gena who's been coming to my shows for years, and she's been really, really dedicated and very loyal," Swift explained in a video diary she posted about the trip on her YouTube channel. "I was at the management office the other day, and we were going through fan mail and invitations and stuff. And I got this wedding invitation, and I noticed I couldn't make it to the wedding. But in the wedding invitation, there was a bridal shower invitation. And I've never been to a bridal shower. So we're going to fly to Ohio today."

Taylor Swift and her big heart have been making some kids smile as of late. The singer has been frequenting children hospitals and it seems as though she does not plan on stopping an time soon. On March 31, ‘Trouble’ singer stopped by another children’s hospital and put some big smiles on her sick fans’ faces.

When she is not putting huge smiles on her fans’ faces at one of her sold out concerts, Taylor is making surprise visits and delighting sick children across the nation. On March 31, Taylor and her dad were spending some time in Rhode Island and they decided to drive up Interstate 95 to Providence to visit a children’s hospital.

The pop star arrived solo, with no entourage, and spent the majority of her 5-hour visit speaking to the little kids, who all seemed to enjoy her company just as much. The visit was kept under wraps until Hasbro Children’s Hospital posted a thankful message on it’s Facebook page.

“A huge THANK YOU to the amazingly sweet and talented Taylor Swift who visited Hasbro Children’s Hospital today!” the page stated. “ It was such a special day for a lot of our kids, and we are so thankful to Taylor and her dad for choosing to spend their time with us and put smiles on so many faces.” So sweet!

On March 22, the country star spent part of her day at New York Hospital Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The singer was supposed to spend only an hour, but she wound up staying for five!

Shelby Huff, who is suffering from severe aplastic anemia and also a huge Taylor fan, got a one on one with the singer. The two gabbed like old gal pals– speaking about Shelby’s guitar lessons and Taylor even got to speak with Shelby’s sister Avalon, who Skyped in during the visit. Shelby’s family documented the entire visit.

She routinely kicks off her weekend by sweating it out in a dance studio.

On Saturday she added a little extra excitement to her wardrobe by wearing an oversized hoodie emblazoned with the face of a black Jaguar in attack mode, fangs showing and all.

The 24-year-old seemed to be in good spirits as she was escorted to her ballet session, which is pretty impressive considering her Sweeter Than Fiction song for the film One Chance was snubbed this week by the Oscars nods.

Taylor stuck to her usual ballet flats and black leggings to hug her incredibly slim pins, carrying an elegant black leather handbag on her right arm.

The I Knew You Were Trouble singer wore a splash of red lipstick and pulled her delicate blonde tresses back into a casual ponytail, ready to hit the dance floor.

But the frightening, open-mouthed, snarling panther that sat front and centre on the starlet's hooded sweater threw things a little out of order.

With menacing eyes and enormous sharp pointy teeth, the growling black cat's face warned passers by that Taylor may be pretty and sweet, but she sure does know how to channel her inner ferociousness.

The songstress smiled and giggled her way through the sunny Los Angeles day, apparently tickled by something along the way as she shared a laugh with her team.

She was seen smiling, which would surely put her in good stead for a productive dance practice session.

Taylor is likely to be preparing herself for the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The seven-time Grammy winner's fourth studio record Red is up for album of the year and best country album when the show airs January 26 on CBS.

Her song Begin Again will vie for best country song, and she's up for best country duo/group performance alongside Tim McGraw and Keith Urban on Highway Don't Care.

The Sparks Fly hitmaker will also perform at the Grammy's where the two remaining Beatles, Lorde, Pink, and Katy Perry will also take the stage.

Taylor Swift wowed at the American Music Awards tonight (Nov. 24) as she walked the red carpet in a sparkling minidress.

The 23-year-old made sure to show her ex and fellow AMAs attendee Harry Styles what he's been missing in a Julien Macdonald dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Swift presented the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist to Justin Timberlake before taking to the stage to accept the award for Best Country Album for "Red."

Taylor Swift also won Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist at the 2013 American Music Awards.

CMA Awards 2013: Taylor Swift takes home Pinnacle Award

Taylor Swift was the subject of some star-studded praise Wednesday as she picked up the Pinnacle Award at the 47th annual Country Music Association Awards.

The award goes to artists who take country music to a worldwide audience. Garth Brooks is the only previous winner. He won in 2005.

A group of country music's elite came on stage to present the honor to Swift, including George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley -- all of whom gave Swift a chance to open for them on the road a teenager.

A video salute followed with appearances by Justin Timberlake, Julia Roberts, Carly Simon, Ethel Kennedy, Ellen DeGeneres and Mick Jagger -- whose appearance made Swift shout.

The 23-year-old Swift recounted a call she got out of the blue from her Big Machine Records head Scott Borchetta when she was 16.

"He said, 'Can you be on the road in two days to open for Rascal Flatts,' and I immediately started screaming and said, 'This must be a miracle,'" she said. "He said, 'No, it's not a miracle. Eric Church got fired for playing too long.'"

She added: "You've made me fell so special right now, thank you."

Earlier in the evening, she took the stage for a somber, acoustic performance of her hit "Red," accompanied by Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Sam Bush.

Swift was up for six awards coming into the CMAs (tied with Kacey Musgraves for the most nominations), including the night's top honor, entertainer of the year.

The Red singer was spotted looking casual and cute when leaving a dance studio after rehearsal today in Los Angeles, wearing a bright pink Victoria's Secret PINK sweater that said "LOVE" across the chest and "PINK" in purple cheetah print underneath, with leggings and black Ray-Ban shades. And although it seems that T.Swift is all love all the time, she admits she hasn't found that "great love" just yet.

"I think that you can love people without it being the great love," the 23-year-old country star said in the November issue of InStyle, and explained that her pal Ed Sheeran gave her a new perspective on finding the right person.

Big Weekend For Taylor Swift in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country Music Superstar Taylor Swift is taking center stage in Nashville for three days straight.  She is wrapping up the North American leg of her "RED" tour here in Music City.

Thursday night she performed the first of three sold out concerts at the Bridgestone Arena.

Taylor's "RED" tour has played to sold-out crowds across the U-S and Canada since March including 36 arenas and 9 stadiums. 

The shows in Nashville Thursday, Friday and Saturday end a record-breaking run where she played 58 shows in 45 cities.  

Taylor's buddy from the United Kingdom, Ed Sherran, is opening up all three shows here.  

Earlier Thursday Swift was presented with a plaque commemorating $4 million in sales for her album "RED" in the U-K. The album has sold six million copies worldwide.  

The singer said she wanted to save Nashville as the last city in the North American leg of  her tour.

Next,  Taylor Swift will travel down under to entertain crowds in Australia.

Taylor Swift: 'Never chase a boy'

Taylor Swift says she would never chase a guy.

While the 23-year-old singer has a number of tricks she uses to show a member of the opposite sex when she is interested in him, she insists she would never actively pursue someone.

She said: "I ran into this problem a lot when I was in Junior High because the guy I liked never noticed me. The best thing to do is give little hints. Go up and talk to him! But don't seem desperate. And never chase a boy.

"I think it's always good to be somebody's friends first. If it escalates into something more, that's awesome. If not, now you've got another friend.

"Never be jealous. You can be competitive, but never be jealous. If you're jealous in a relationship, it's because you're not confident in yourself."

Swift also revealed she had her first kiss at the age of 15.

The We Are Never Getting Back Together hitmaker - who has dated a string of stars including Joe Jonas, Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal - says she was a late bloomer but is happy she waited because she dated the guy for a year afterwards.

She told Tiger Beat: "I was 15. I was one of the last of my friends to ever kiss a guy. It wasn't a bad kiss. I think it was cute. We ended up dating for a year!"

Looking back on the past year, what was the highlight for you?

Taylor Swift: For me, the highlight of this year was that fans went out and bought more than a million copies of "Red" in its first week of release. That was such an unbelievable feeling, knowing that many people wanted to hear about the last two years of my life. When I put out an album, it’s like me releasing my version of events, the way I felt at my highest and lowest points. Sharing that with the world is a vulnerable position to put yourself in, and having it be so celebrated by my fans was almost an indescribable feeling of joy and relief and "Oh, good, they understand me."

What song really made an impact on you this year?

I’m obsessed with "Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line. It’s the catchiest thing I’ve heard in years, and I love the Nelly version too. They’re out on tour with us right now, so I get to hear it all the time. I’m also absolutely smitten with “I Love It” by Icona Pop. It’s the way reckless abandon sounds in my head. I play it right before I go onstage.

What new talent emerged or came into his or her own this year that blew you away?

Tegan & Sara have been around for years and I’ve always loved them, but I feel like they really stretched sonically on this new album, "Heartthrob." I was just so impressed by it, and there isn’t a song on it I don’t love. So I guess, in my mind, I categorize them as the new Tegan & Sara. To see artists evolve like that is so inspiring.

What to you was one of the biggest losses this year in music?

I think losing George Jones deeply saddened everyone in Nashville. His influence on country music and his legacy will last forever. On top of all of that, he was a very sweet man and I'm so sorry we've lost him. George Jones never stopped wanting to be onstage. He played live shows until the day he died, and that passion for performing is something I look up to.

What was your favorite music-related meme or viral video this year?

I like the app where you can make your own memes. I make memes all the time and send them to my friends. I also love basically any cat-related YouTube video. Yes, I’m that girl. And I thought the goat video for “I Knew You Were Trouble” was brilliant—I showed it to everyone on my tour.

Was there a surprising sound or music trend that pricked up your ears?

I love that ballads became huge hits this year and that unexpected songs and artists got lots of airplay. Ed Sheeran, the Lumineers and fun. are some of my favorites right now, and they’ve all had big hits with songs that have substance and real instruments. I like it!

What music trend hurts your ears?

I don’t like to feel like I’m in a club when I’m in my car and I turn on the radio. Anything that ceases to be a song and just sounds like house music kind of stresses me out.

Taylor Swift Takes Lucky Cancer Survivor As Her ACMs Date!

Country superstar Taylor Swift was centerstage at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night. She was a vision in her gold and silver mesh dress on the red carpet, and she floored the audience with her performance of “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. But Swift’s greatest ACMs moment came before the event started: Instead of showing up with some big-shot celebrity, Swift invited a 19-year-old fan named Kevin McGuire, who had been battling leukemia, to escort her to the show.

Last year, the New Jersey teen's sister launched a Facebook campaign to have the singer be McGuire's date to his high school prom. Bolstered by tens of thousands of followers, and the support of celebs from Perez Hilton to Troy Aikman, word finally got around to Swift herself. Touched by the invitation, Swift replied, “Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up. Would you be my date?”

At the time, McGuire was too ill to attend the ACM awards. But since he is much healthier this year, Swift invited him and his whole family to come to the 2013 ACMs. A white limousine picked the McGuires up from their home in Somerdale, New Jersey, and drove them to the airport, where they boarded a plane to Las Vegas. McGuire accompanied Swift to the awards, but wasn't able to sit in the audience with Swift or walk the carpet with her; during the show, Swift sat next to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, while the McGuire family sat in the back left. But Swift met the McGuires backstage again after her performance.

Before the show, the family hung out in Swift’s hotel room and took pictures with her before she began preparing for the big show. After meeting his dream-girl, McGuire tweeted, “If you guys think she's pretty in pictures, I can't tell you how stunning she is in real life.”

This wasn’t the first time that Swift had reached out to a sick fan. In March, Swift visited a 10-year-old cancer patient in a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, and in January, she got together in Nashville with a 17-year-old girl suffering from brain cancer.

Singer Taylor Swift has opened up about her thoughts on people who have criticised her for penning down songs on her past relationships.

The 23-year-old feels it is sexist of people to look down upon it.

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," Vanity Fair magazine quoted Swift as saying.

Swift, who recently parted ways with singer Harry Styles, has dated Joe Jones, Taylor Lautner and Conor Kennedy in the past.

Harry Styles has broken his silence on his short-lived romance with Taylor Swift, explaining there is no bad blood between the pair.

A source said: “Lyrics have been written, but Taylor hasn’t come close to deciding whether she’ll ever release them.

According to US gossip site Radar Online the 18-year-old heart-throb grew increasingly frustrated with Taylor because of her prudish ways in the days leading up to their split.

A source revealed to Radar that Taylor is nervous about how she is seen by the public so she won't "put out".

They said: “Taylor is so concerned that the public will think she’s a wh*re because she dates around, that she doesn’t put out, what she doesn’t get is that the guys keep dumping her because she’s being a prude.”

Another insider reportedly told Radar that Harry got bored by Taylor, 23, constantly talking about antiques.

And it seems that it was their differing lifestyles that eventually drove the couple apart after just 65 days together.

The source added: “Harry wants to go out to fancy bars and clubs and enjoy being young – but Taylor’s more of a homebody and all she would talk about was antiques!”

Singer Taylor Swift says she is often left disappointed when her romantic view of the world does not match the reality.

The 23-year-old singer, who is currently dating One Direction's singer Harry Styles, said her optimistic vision of the world has been influenced by the story book romances she used to devour as a lonely teenager, reported Aceshowbiz.

"It can be heartbreaking when you find out that your fairytale image of the world doesn't match the reality. I used to read fairytales when I was young and I grew up with such a vivid imagination, and all that has fuelled this little world of mine.

"I was pretty isolated in school. I had no place really to turn except inwards. We all want to believe in the ideal, even though we discover through bad relationships that it's a difficult thing to find," she said.

The country singer said this after a string of failed relationships - including with Conor Kennedy, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer.

"I think you need to believe in the fairy tale otherwise you become cynical and close yourself off to love because you stop trusting those incredible feelings that come over you at the beginning.

"But as you grow older, you learn to try to balance that faith in the ideal with the practical knowledge it can be very tough and heartbreaking when things don't work out," Swift added.

Taylor Swift trespasser escapes criminal charges

Criminal trespassing charges has be dropped against Jacob Kulke, who was arrested on the Nashville property of country star Taylor Swift earlier this month.

Prosecutors decided not to pursue criminal charges, with 24-year-old Kulke's attorney maintaining that one of the reasons for the dropped charges was the absence of "No Trespassing" signs placed around the property's perimeter, reported TMZ online.

He argued that this led Kulke to believe he could enter. Another reason for this is that Swift's family reportedly did not want to move forward with the case.

However, prosecutors still could reopen the case if new evidence or information is found in the 12 months to come.

Although the trespassing incident has been resolved out of court, Kulke remains in jail as he's facing extradition to Colorado for probation violations including robbery back in his home state. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 29.

Kulke was taken into police custody earlier this month for trying to climb over the fence of Swift's Nashville house. He told cops he is her boyfriend and had taken a bus from Wisconsin to be with her on her 23rd birthday.

The pair were seen sitting with their backs to the crowds, facing the slopes with Harry's arm slightly brushing Taylor as they eat.

Harry was seen standing out from the crowd in a bright orange hat, while Taylor kept herself warm with a cute grey woolen headband.

According to reports, Selena Gomez is also enjoying a holiday in the ski resort.
