Taylor Swift's response to naysayers

Singer Taylor Swift has opened up about her thoughts on people who have criticised her for penning down songs on her past relationships.

The 23-year-old feels it is sexist of people to look down upon it.

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," Vanity Fair magazine quoted Swift as saying.

Swift, who recently parted ways with singer Harry Styles, has dated Joe Jones, Taylor Lautner and Conor Kennedy in the past.

Justin Bieber Premieres 'Mistletoe' Single: Listen

As the most wonderful time of the year approaches, the most wonderful teen pop/R&B superstar, Justin Bieber, has gotten fans in the Christmas spirit by unveiling "Mistletoe," the first single from his forthcoming holiday album, "Under The Mistletoe." The Biebs stopped by "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Monday morning (Oct. 17) to premiere the warm and fuzzy track.

The comparisons between "Mistletoe" and Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours," which began to surface after Bieber performed the track at a Buenos Aires concert last week, are even more apparent in the recorded version of the track: a simple melody dances around an acoustic strum and muted percussion as the pop singer turns on the romantic charm. "Kiss me underneath the mistletoe, show me baby that you love me so," Bieber coos to his "shorty" on the track.

After premiering the track, Bieber told Seacrest that he was excited for the release of "Under The Mistletoe," which arrives Nov. 1 through RBMG/Island Def Jam Music Group.

"Even though it's a Christmas album, it's probably my best album yet," says Bieber of the album, which feature Boyz II Men, Usher, the Band Perry and Mariah Carey, among other artists. "I got a lot of different genres on there, so I think it works for everybody."

The music video for "Mistletoe" will premiere on MTV on Tuesday night at 7:54 pm EST. Bieber teased the official clip by releasing a 30-second snippet last Thursday.

Bieber also revealed that he will join Seacrest in New York's Times Square for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on Dec. 31. The pop star will join previously announced performers Lady Gaga and Pitbull at this year's festivities.
