Avril Lavigne Engagement Ring 'Worth $350,000'

Avril Lavigne's engagement ring is reportedly worth a cool $350,000.

Following the shock announcement that Lavigne had accepted Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's marriage proposal, it has now emerged that the rocker splashed a lot of cash on the ring.

Speaking of the sparkler, jewellery expert Michael O'Connor told US Weekly: "A pear shape diamond set in platinum is a nod to vintage glamour and individuality - perfect for a rocker like Avril.

"The half-moon diamonds are also rare since they would have to be specially cut to fit on either side of the centre diamond. The centre diamond is approximately 10 carats, with an additional four carats of total side diamonds."

The couple have since been spotted celebrating their engagement in Las Vegas, with reports claiming they knocked back bottles of champagne and vodka at the 1OAK nightclub.

An onlooker told Life & Style magazine: "They went to 1 Oak Nightclub in Las Vegas on Aug. 21 to celebrate their engagement.

"Avril arrived first with a bunch of male friends and bodyguards, then Chad showed up later and met them inside. Avril was so excited to see her man.

"They were super cuddly and affectionate. They drank Dom Pérignon and Grey Goose.'She can pound the vodka."

Despite the initial surprise that the 27-year old had become engaged to Kroeger, pals have since told People that they are the perfect match.

The insider said: "They have the same values and really understand each other. They complement each other and are so happy."

Avril and Chad have since spoken of their engagement in an interview with HELLO! Canada, where Kroeger revealed: "I knew I was falling for her. It was incredibly powerful and something I'll never forget."

Lavigne - who was previously married to Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley - added: "He makes me laugh every day. He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive."

Status: The couple was married for almost six years and had a son, Ryder, before splitting in 2006. Hudson is currently engaged to Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy and they had a baby boy, Bingham, together in July of 2011.

Married young: Culkin married girlfriend Rachel Miner in 1998 when they were both just 17.

Status: The two separated in 2000, and Culkin later dated Mila Kunis.

Status: Their marriage, viewed nationwide on MTV reality show Newlyweds, went sour as her career 

heated up and his stalled. Simpson filed for divorce in 2005. Both stars have moved on: Simpson recently had a baby girl, Maxwell, with fiancéEric Johnson. In 2011, Lachey married TV personality Vanessa Minnillo; the two are expecting a baby this year.

Married young: Simpson tied the knot with fellow musician Pete Wentz in May 2008. She was 23, he was 28.

Status: The couple had a son, Bronx, in December 2008, but by early 2011, Simpson filed for divorce.

Reese Witherspoon

Married young: Two years after meeting at Witherspoon's 21st birthday party, she and Ryan Phillippe married in1999.

Status: This pair were married for seven years and had a daughter, Ava, in 1999 and a son, Deacon, in 2003. They split up in 2006. Today, Witherspoon is remarried to CAA agent Jim Toth, and the couple are expecting a baby this year.

Justin, Selena enjoy ‘romantic’ Mexican marriage

London: Lovebirds Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had a great time during a romantic beach wedding of one of the Disney actress’s dear friend in Mexico.

The so-in-love couple got romantic while attending the beautiful beachside nuptial of Gomez’ friend Shannon Larossi in Los Cabos, the Sun reported.

While posing for photos on golden sands the young couple ensured that they have a memento of the magical day.

The Disney actress, who was a bridesmaid, met Larossi- a costume designer by profession, on the Disney show “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

The 19-year-old actress wore a halterneck blue frock while the ‘Baby’ singer donned a white T-shirt with green capri shorts and a magnolia jacket emblazoned with badges.

The two spent the day lounging on the beach, cuddling in the sea and tearing around on jet-skis. 

'Twilight Saga's' Kristen Stewart doesn’t believe in marriage

The 'Twilight' actress – who is dating co-star Robert Pattinson – admitted she has no plans to walk down the aisle, unlike her character in the movie series, because she doesn't see the need for such a commitment to be marked by signing official documents.

When asked if she "believes" in marriage, she told German magazine TVMovie: "I like the thought of two people staying together for the rest of their lives. For me, however, this doesn’t need to be sealed with signatures.”

Her alter-ego Bella is set to tie the knot with Robert's character Edward in film 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' – which is set to be released later this year – and the 21-year-old beauty explained she "loves" the wedding dress she has to wear for the marriage scenes.

She added: "I love it! It’s old-fashioned, but that’s exactly what I like.”

Robert recently gave Kristen – who is a fan of vintage jewellery - a $40,000 antique gold and platinum locket with a personalized inscription, which reportedly reads: "Even if you can't see me, my love for you is always there."

The gift also contains photographs of the pair together inside.

Selena Gomez Doesn't Want to Marry Justin Bieber or Shia LaBeouf gomez

Selena Gomez might be enjoying her time with Justin Bieber, but that doesn't mean that she wants to marry him.

Selena was recently asked if she plans of marrying Justin someday, and some Beliebers might think that she is crazy for responding, "No, I'm only 19!"

Gomez also admitted that her celebrity crush, Transformers star Shia LaBeouf, isn't the one for her when she said of meeting him, "I was so happy when I saw Shia. I was so starstruck. He probably thinks I'm crazy and I probably made a fool out of myself, but I love him. I have literally been obsessed with him since I was 15. Shia's older than me, so I look up to him. I don't want to marry him, though!"

So is Selena Gomez stupid for saying that she doesn't want to marry Justin Bieber or Shia?

Actually the contrary is true—Selena has proved that she's rather smart and mature for being a teenager. Tons of teens (cough,Twilight fans, cough, cough) probably think that they'll stay with their high school sweethearts forever, but people can change a lot as they grow older (just look at former teen couple Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake).

Their pop star backgrounds might make Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez seem like a perfect match, but Selena is intelligent enough to realize that their feelings might not last as time passes by. And there's no telling what could happen in the future—Justin might become a has-been, while Selena becomes the next JenniferLopez, for instance.

It also takes a lot of maturity for a girl Selena's age to say that she wouldn't jump at the chance to marry her celebrity crush. So while one may never see her and Justin Bieber walk down the aisle, at least Selena Gomez' patience gives her a good chance of finding the right guy to completely commit to someday (however, it would be interesting to know where Justin stands on the marriage question).
