Kristen Stewart attacked by conservative group

Kristen Stewart is in wicked trouble now. Something called the Culture and Media Institute is having a big problem with her role in On The Road, which premiered this week in Cannes.

Apparently the Culture and Media Institute believes that womenfolk actress types should only play chaste infantilized characters forever and ever.

According to radaronline, Dan Gainor of the CMI says, “In the film On The Road, Kristen Stewart engages in a threesome and masturbates two male characters according to reports. How will parents who took their daughters to see the Twilight movies explain this?”

Leaving aside the preposterous idea that it’s someone else’s responsibility to step in when you’re unable to make your mouth form the words needed to explain the facts of life to your children, what about Robert Pattinson’s turn in the — by all accounts — equally depraved Cosmopolis? What? Hmmm? Also: Are the parents, who took their daughters to see Twilight aware that in Breaking Dawn a grown man falls in love with a baby?

Not a mention. Let’s instead hear what he has to say about the behaviour of grown women:

“We’ve watched and been saddened by the parade of former Disney stars getting used, so that any wholesome image they have is destroyed — Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus and more.

“But it’s not just them. It’s a common theme from actresses like Elizabeth Berkley from Saved by the Bell who appeared in the tawdry Showgirls or Anne Hathaway who went from every girl’s dream role model in the Princess Diaries to a nude scene with Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs.” Showgirls tawdry? Wash out your mouth.

“Then there’s Jessica Alba who grew up from appearing in the TV show Flipper to a starring role in the sick and abusive The Killer Inside Me.”

Meanwhile, Stewart said about filming the scene with Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley, "I wanted to do [the scene]. I love pushing. I love scaring myself. I've always wanted to get as close to an experience as I could."

Cannes 2012: Kristen Stewart 'I love scaring myself'

Kristen Stewart said she had more fun in a month of shooting Cannes entry On The Road - and a role full of sex, drugs and nudity - than in all the Twilight films put together

The actress, 22, has complained in the past of feeling desperately uncomfortable with the level of fame that comes with playing Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise.
Making On The Road, an adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel, was a completely different experience and one that she relished, as she and her fellow cast members were able to film in Canada without the frenzy that accompanies a Twilight shoot.
“I’m usually pretty self-conscious about running around town with my face hanging out but I didn’t care at all because I was with these guys,” she said.
"I got to live more in those four weeks than typically for me in my normal life - like in a lifetime. So it was great.”
Stewart plays Marylou, the teen wife of Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund) in Kerouac’s chronicle of the free-spirited Beat Generation.

Kristen Stewart's 'On The Road': Cannes Reviews Are In!

Kristen Stewart hit the 2012 Cannes Film Festival to debut her latest film, "On the Road." Adapted from Jack Kerouac's Beat Generation novel, the film centers on writers Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund) and Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) as they journey across America with Dean's wife, Marylou (Stewart), living in a whirlwind of sex, drugs and writing.

Despite the American classic being considered unadaptable, director Walter Salles took on the ambitious project, much to the dismay of critics. While they say the movie remains faithful to the book, they feel the film version lacks the spark Kerouac carried throughout the novel.

Kristen Stewart Parties All Night With Garrett Hedlund!

The ‘On The Road’ costars relax together in Los Angeles!

Kristen Stewart was last spotted in Los Angeles on June 22 at the premiere of the film A Better Lifewith Taylor Lautner, and we now know she hit up the film’s after party at The Ritz-Carlton – with her BFF and hot On The Road costar Garrett Hedlund!
Several eyewitnesses told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that K-Stew, 21, and Garrett, 26, looked happy to be spending time together. That said, there was no intimacy between the pair — just two great friends and costars having fun!
“Kristen and Garrett were both at the A Better Life afterparty, but Taylor was not there,” the source said. “It was interesting that Garrett arrived to the premiere late and by himself. Maybe he purposely didn’t want to be seen with Kristen to spread rumors, but they did hang out together later.”
We’re glad K-Stew had a great night out, but we’re sure she misses her boyfriend Robert Pattinson!
