Chris Weitz Talks About Rob, Taylor & Kristen

“I really want to see how they’re going to figure out the part where the vampire baby chews its way out of Kristen Stewart’s stomach,” said “New Moon” director, Chris Weitz, when we recently asked him what he’s looking forward to seeing in the final “Twilight Saga” movies.

Chris quipped with a smile, “I certainly wouldn’t know how to shoot that. I’m sure Bill Condon is going to figure it out, because he’s a terrific director.”

As for the future of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner after “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Parts 1 (to be released in November this year) and 2 (next year), here’s Chris’ wish for them: “For the three leads, they’re going to need to handle this last tsunami of publicity and distinguish themselves in other films.”

“With Kristen, she has always done terrific independent-film roles, and that’s great,” said Chris, who also directed the memorable “About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass” and, now, the acclaimed “A Better Life.” “Rob is doing that sort of thing, too,”Chris pointed out. “Rob is filming with David Cronenberg (‘Cosmopolis’) now. Taylor is carving a different path in action films.”

“I want to see them succeed,” Chris stressed. “I want to see them retain their essential humanity. I like them very much. What I also wish for them are happy lives that aren’t impinged on too much by the downside of the great things that have happened to them.”

Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner: LA Film Fest Fabulous!

Pairing up for a rare red carpet outing, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were side-by-side at the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival on Tuesday night (June 21).
The "Twilight" co-stars both wore big smiles on their faces as they meandered about the Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE venue for the nighttime screening of "A Better Life".

As for the appearance, Kristen and Taylor were on-hand to support the director of "A Better Life," Chris Weitz, who also directed the "New Moon" installment of their ulta-popular "Twilight" franchise.
As for "A Better Life," the drama is due out on June 24 while telling the story of "a gardener in East L.A. who struggles to keep his son away from gangs and immigration agents while trying to give his son the opportunities he never had."

Robert Pattinson officially loses Jeff Buckley role to Penn Badgley

It’s official.  Penn Badgley has been cast in the role of Jeff Buckley, a role that Twilight star Robert Pattinson allegedly wanted to play himself.  According to Deadline, on June 20, 2011, Smuggler films made the announcement that Badgley would portray the deceased singer in the movie Greetings from Tim Buckley.
This isn’t the first time that the life of Jeff Buckley will be immortalized on film.  An independent film called Amazing Grace: Jeff Buckley actually made its Boston premiere at the Independent Film Festival of Boston on April 22 and 24, 2006.
With Robert Pattinson’s explosive popularity, it’s surprising that he would be turned down for the role of Jeff Buckley.  Greetings from Tim Buckley is reportedly in preproduction.  Limited information is available about the film, including the actors who will play alongside Penn Badgley.  However, IMDb does have the following plot summary posted on their site:
“Greetings from Tim Buckley follows the true story of the days leading up to Jeff Buckley’s eminent 1991 performance at his father’s tribute concert in St. Ann’s Church. Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he learns to embrace all of his feelings toward the father who abandoned him – longing, anger, forgiveness, and love. Culminating a cathartic performance of his father’s most famous songs, Jeff’s debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time.”

Kristen Stewart: Sandwiched Between Taylor & Rob At The MTV Movie Awards?

Deciding where people sit at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards sounds like one fun job, but it's also like trying to piece together a very complex puzzle. So, kind of difficult. With only one day until host Jason Sudeikis kicks the party off at the Gibson Amphitheatre in lovely Los Angeles, MTV News is beginning to put the pieces of that seating puzzle together.

So, how does it get decided that these folks will end up sitting near one another? "It's like a puzzle," Talent Ticketing Seating Manager Stephan Lenart graciously explained. "I definitely pay attention to it. You kind of have to for this group."
Knowing what the fans want probably explains why “Twilight”'s distinguished love triangle, Kristen, Rob and Taylor, are sitting near each other at the big show. We're definitely excited to see those moments.
In our gallery of MTV Movie Awards behind-the-scenes photos, we have lots of fun little images — including one showing off where “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” star Shia LaBeouf will be sitting, and it seems it's not too far away from his very beautiful co-star in the summer blockbuster Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. As it turns out the two also look like they won't be far from former Movie Awards host Aziz Ansari and McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey.
