Taylor Swift Honored by Kennedy Family


Taylor Swift admits to a fascination with the Kennedy family, and now the famous clan is honoring her with a prestigious award. The 22-year-old is being lauded by the Robert F. Kennedy Center For Justice and Human Rights with the Ripple of Hope Award for her commitment to social change.

"Taylor Swift's dedication to advocacy at such a young age continues to inspire me, and I'm delighted to honor her as one of our 2012 Ripple of Hope Award recipients," Kerry Kennedy, President of the RFK Center for Justice says in a statement (via New Straits Times). "As a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all."

The 22-year-old's numerous charitable efforts, including her disaster relief concert following Nashville's 2010 flood, her $4 million donation to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and her advocacy against bullying among the LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex) community all contributed to her becoming this year's recipient.

The Ripple of Hope Award, according to a spokesman for the center, "lauds leaders of the international business, entertainment, and activist communities who demonstrate commitment to social change." Previous recipients of the award include U2's lead singer, Bono, George Clooney and former Vice-President Al Gore.

Taylor, who spent the July 4 holiday with members of the Kennedy clan in Cape Cod, will receive the award on Dec. 3, at a black-tie dinner hosted by Alec Baldwin.

The country superstar, who also received the Star of Compassion Award earlier this year for her ongoing generosity, hints that she is getting ready to release a new studio album later this year. Her next scheduled appearance is at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 22.

Harry Potter's Rupert Grint Set To Carry Olympic Torch


Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint is set to join in the Olympic celebrations by carrying the torch through Barnet on July 25.

The star will join athlete Daley Thompson, Olympic badminton silver medallist Nathan Robertson and 1966 World Cup winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks as the torch passes past Wembley Arena, Middlesex University and Barnet.

The actor is best known for his role in the hit 'Harry Potter' movies, in which he plays Harry's best friend and fellow wizard Ron Weasley.

After Grint's stint the torch will pass by St Paul's Cathedral, the Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe theatre, Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge ground, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and a party in Hyde Park, with fundraiser and comedian David Walliams amongst the torch bearers.


Daniel Radcliffe to play a supernatural murder suspect in Horns


The Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to the supernatural thriller Horns, based on the novel by Joe Hill and to be directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D). The film will see Radcliffe in a darker role: his character wakes up one day to find himself accused of his girlfriend's rape and murder. On top of that, he has sprouted horns that grant him all kinds of powers. Shooting is scheduled to begin in September.

Kim Hyun Joong Drives 30,000 Fans Wild at Saitama Super Arena

World star Kim Hyun Joong held a free live performance "Kim Hyun Joong 'Heat' 2012 in Japan" at the Saitama Super Arena for two days to celebrate the release of his second Japanese single "HEAT."


For two days the event drew a total of 30,000 fans however the exclusive event was limited for album buyers.


Kim Hyun Joong who has shooting for the drama "City Conquest" in Nikko, Tochigi as well as holding fan events and guerrilla live concerts in various parts of Japan had a sore throat during rehearsal and went for quick checkup which led to a delay for 1 hour for the first show.

Nevertheless the singer appeared on stage and performed a total of 15 songs including his Japan debut song "Kiss Kiss," new song "HEAT" that tops Oricon's singles chart and "Lucky Guy."

The single upon its release sold a whopping 137,774 copies topping the Oricon daily singles chart, a record for a solo foreign artist.

Kim Hyun Joong shared, "I have not specifically discussed about future plans. I wish to make a studio album also would like to hold a world tour. I would like to have concerts at a smaller venue rather than big stage," hinting a possible Japan tour next year.





Miley Cyrus Goes Super Blonde!


Something old, something new, something borrowed and something…blonde? The engaged star debuted lightened up strands this weekend — and we have to wonder if she’s testing out lock looks for her upcoming nuptials.

On Saturday, Miley Cyrus Tweeted a photo (below) of her new hue, along with a caption poking fun at her new look: “Now that I’m blonde I gotta give duck lips in every photo.”

While skateboarding with her fiancĂ© Liam Hemsworth in Los Angeles on Sunday, Cyrus gave onlookers a better view of her brighter hair color, which is a major departure from the auburn shade she’s been sporting this year. It also appears she trimmed off a few inches.
