'The Vampire Diaries': Is Jeremy Dead?

According to an EW.com poll after last week’s Vampire Diaries cliffhanger, only 25 percent of viewers are absolutely certain that Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) will live again after Silas drained him of his blood and snapped his neck. Another 17 percent are nearly certain, while 37 percent think the odds are 50/50, and 22 percent believe we’ve lost him (and his white tanks) for good. Watch our exclusive clip below of Jeremy’s return home; you’ll know what Stefan would have voted.

Vampire Diaries S4E10 Preview, Promo: "After School Special"

In the last episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' before the mid-season hiatus, "O Come, All Ye Faithful," the group of supernatural beings in Mystic Falls was forced to deal with hybrid Tyler's (Michael Trevino) plan to get rid of Original Hybrid Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Jeremy Gilbert's (Steven R. McQueen) desire to kill his newly fanged sister Elena (Nina Dobrev).
Despite his best intentions to unsire all of his fellow hybrids from Klaus and then defeat him, Tyler's friend Haley ruined his master plan with a plan of her own involving the slaughter of 12 hybrids. In his rage, Klaus decided to take out his revenge on Tyler by murdering his mother, Mayor Lockwood (Susan Walters).

Over at the Gilbert cabin, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Professor Shane (David Alpay) tried to help Jeremy overcome his intense desire to kill his sister. They decided to invite Elena, who brought Damon (Ian Somerhalder) along, to come over and help with the process. Although it failed at first, the process gave Elena hope that Jeremy could eventually overcome his urges.
In the upcoming mid-season opener, entitled "After School Special," Klaus' sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) returns to Mystic Falls and gets on Elena, Carolina (Candice Accola) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) case about finding the cure of vampirism. Meanwhile, Bonnie's dad Rudy Owens (Rick Worthy) takes up the role of Interim Mayor following Mayor Lockwood's death and decides he wants to take a bigger role in Bonnie's life.
At the Gilbert cabin, Damon and Matt (Zach Roerig) help Jeremy hone in his vampire hunting skills, but their progress doesn't sit well with Klaus.
'Vampire Diaries' S4E10, "After School Special," airs Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.

'Vampire Diaries' synopsis for 'Memorial' episode: Damon confides his feelings

The synopsis for "The Vampire Diaries" episode 2 of season 4, "Memorial," was released late on Thursday and reveals that Damon is going to confide his feelings to someone.

While the Salvatore brothers argue about how best to approach Elena's (Nina Dobrev) vampire transition, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is going to turn to an unlikely friend to spill his feelings. Could this mean that he still hasn't given up on Elena?

Whether he is over her or not, Damon will try and convince Elena to let him help her with Vampire 101 on his terms and not tell Stefan (Paul Wesley) about it. So, clearly he still cares for her, and it looks like Elena may put her trust in Damon to let him guide her through the change.

Meanwhile, a stranger named Connor Jordan (Todd Williams), arrives in Mystic Falls and starts questioning Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood. Stefan quickly realizes that Connor is up to no good and poses great danger to them all.
