Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Back Together?

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may or may not be together in real life, but fans are still hoping for a kissing rain scene starring "TVD" characters Elena and Damon.

During PaleyFest 2014, 35-year-old Somerhalder and his rumored 25-year-old girlfriend addressed the fact that fans want to see Damon and Elena kiss while in the rain again.

"First of all, it's really cold in Georgia, so I don't think that's such a good idea," Somerhalder said at the PaleyFest panel for the CW series, according to Entertainment Wise. "It was below 30 degrees, and it got so cold the muscles in my jaw froze and I couldn't speak. I looked like I had Bell's palsy."

Dobrev agreed, adding, "I got icicles in my hair and I got really sick."

And it looks like no one is safe if the kissing rain scene happens.

"You write another rain kiss and I quit," Somerhalder said, threating the show's co-executive producer Julie Plec.

Damon and Elena are seemingly back together in season 5 of the popular CW vampire TV show, at least in a romantic hooking up type of way.

"Friends with benefits never ultimately work," Somerhalder recently told Zap2it. "They are wonderful for a spell. But hey, you never know."

Dobrev agreed.

"Well, we've all seen the movie 'Friends With Benefits' with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, right?" Dobrev tells Zap2it. "Everyone always goes into that whole arrangement with optimistic views and wanting it to work but it always gets messy. It's hard to just separate sex and emotions. Those just go together."

During PaleyFest, both agreed that their onscreen romance was "toxic," with Somerhalder saying, "When you have grown-up conversations, you have to put your big boy pants and big girl pants on and have the conversation. But they keep taking their pants off, and that's what gets in the way of the grown up conversations."

The Vampire Diaries Finale: Julie Plec Teases Elena's Choice, Bonnie's Sacrifice and "Dynasty-Style" Fight

Four vampires, one witch-ghost and one human-as-apple-pie quarterback graduating from high school? Only on The Vampire Diaries! The CW hit's beloved characters are all set to receive their diplomas and toss their graduation caps up in the air...all while dealing with some serious supernatural craziness going down in the season-four finale on Thursday night. You know, just another typical day in Mystic Falls.
We chatted with executive producer Julie Plec about the season four finale, including Bonnie's (Kat Graham) "bittersweet sacrifice," Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline's (Candice Accola) future now that he's off to headline The Originals spin-off and Elena and Katherine's Dynasty-style fight that was years in the making! Plus, will Elena and Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) sire-bond come back into play when she makes her choice between the brothers?

Elena's Choice, Take Two: While season three's finale also featured Elena making a choice between the Salvatore brothers, Plec previews that our heroine isn't the same human girl who chose Stefan (Paul Wesley) just before dying and coming back as a vamp. "I think that in last year's finale it was very clear that Elena was struggling with feelings for both brothers and needed to make a decision about what she wanted her life to be and who she wanted to share that life with," she explains. "This year, she's had a very traumatic roller coaster of life experience and it's changed her irrevocably—and at the center of it all was the diehard belief that she loved Damon, that she loved him more than she'd ever loved anyone.
She continues, "Her struggle has been with the realization of the sire bond that she couldn't even trust those feelings to be true. So it's more about answering the truth of those feelings and as a result does that mean her distance from Stefan was also not real and not true? She handles that realization pretty well and it's a great, great, great scene."

Doppelgänger Dragout: Fans who have been salivating over the possible Katherine and Elena fight will not want to miss the finale, with Plec teasing, "Ever since we introduced Katherine, we've been waiting to have a knockout, dragout Alexis and Crystal Dynasty-style fight between these two women and it definitely doesn't disappoint. There's no ball gowns and swimming pools, but otherwise I think we do it justice!" Can we get an amen?!

Crossover Lovers?: "There's a moment between them in the finale that basically makes it clear where Klaus stands and where Caroline stands," Plec teases of the fan-favorite couple before  Klaus heads off to New Orleans for The Originals. "Rather than completely shutting any doors, it actually, if anything, opens a new one. We've never wanted to compromise the Klaus-Caroline with the idea that there would be this other show she wouldn't potentially be on, so we're making decisions as though we would continue their journey in perpetuity, for better or for worse, whether she ever cared for him or not, and if we need to cross over between the two shows than we will."
As for Caroline's beau Tyler (Michael Trevino), Plec says his future in Mystic Falls will be addressed. "That is definitely resolved. We'll understand what Klaus' intentions are as they relate to Tyler and we'll get a sense of what we might see in the future," she previews.

Death Can Wait, I Need to Graduate: After her shocking death in last week's episode, Bonnie the ghost is on a mission in the finale, to bring the veil back up...even if it means crossing over to the other side for good. "It's a bittersweet journey for her and she has to prepare to make that sacrifice knowing that it will be the thing that separates her from her friends forever," Plec says. "But in the midst of it all there's graduation. [Laughs.] And there's her friends together and she's going to make damn sure she doesn't miss that!"
Slow Burn: In a departure from the first three seasons, TVD played it slow and steady with season four's big bad, Silas, a conscious choice made by Plec and the writers.
"We definitely knew that we wanted to slow-play the beginning of the mythology this season and rather than instantly set up a bad guy and an agenda, it would be a mystery not only to our characters, but to the audience as well," she explains. "Being able to unfold the mystery of Silas over the course of a season had its pitfalls and also its benefits, and I think ultimately, when the audience sees how it ends in this episode, they may start to understand the choices we made and why we made them."
The Vampire Diaries season four finale airs tomorrow night at 8 p.m. on the CW. Check back with us tomorrow for more exclusive scoop from Plec on "Graduation"!

Ian Somerhalder 'Faces Travel Nightmare Following Rumoured Nina Dobrev Split'

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has been left upset after his baggage has been left in Belgium after an apparent strike, just more drama to add to his life following his alleged split with co-star Nina Dobrev.

The 34-year-old star, who has been travelling the world after wrapping season four of Vampire Diaries, has run into a nightmare with his luggage and has taken to Twitter to plea with baggage handlers in Brussels to return his belongings.

Following his trip to promote the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which aims to educate people on issues affecting the environment, his trip quickly turned from “magical” to misery.

After flying to Toronto in Canada, Ian reportedly found out that Swissport Handling had gone on strike, which means that his luggage could remain in Brussels until union workers agree on a deal.

“MY BAGS ARE STUCK IN BRUSSELS-THERE IS A STRIKE-THEY ARE KEEPING MY LUGGAGE!!PLEASE STOP STRIKING!!! GIVE ME MY BAGS BACK!” Ian tweeted yesterday.

According to Expatica.com, meetings between the union and Swissport officials ended without an agreement on Monday.

Ian is said to have split up with his girlfriend of three years Nina Dobrev, with the pair last being seen together outside of work in March. Although neither of their reps will comment on their love life.

'Vampire Diaries' synopsis for 'Memorial' episode: Damon confides his feelings

The synopsis for "The Vampire Diaries" episode 2 of season 4, "Memorial," was released late on Thursday and reveals that Damon is going to confide his feelings to someone.

While the Salvatore brothers argue about how best to approach Elena's (Nina Dobrev) vampire transition, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is going to turn to an unlikely friend to spill his feelings. Could this mean that he still hasn't given up on Elena?

Whether he is over her or not, Damon will try and convince Elena to let him help her with Vampire 101 on his terms and not tell Stefan (Paul Wesley) about it. So, clearly he still cares for her, and it looks like Elena may put her trust in Damon to let him guide her through the change.

Meanwhile, a stranger named Connor Jordan (Todd Williams), arrives in Mystic Falls and starts questioning Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood. Stefan quickly realizes that Connor is up to no good and poses great danger to them all.

MASSIVE VAMPIRE DIARIES SEASON 3 SPOILERS!

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!

So season two of Vampire Diaries couldn't have ended more dramatically if they'd all taken their clothes off, set themselves on fire and then ran off a cliff while bursting into flames singing Hit Me Baby One More Time. We can't wait for Ian SomerhalderNina Dobrev andPaul Wesley to be back on our screens - and have a little hint as to what's in store!

Executive producer Julie Plec has shared some insider information about season three, and starts by talking about Elena and Damon's smooch at the end of season two.
"I felt like it was something that needed to happen to end Damon’s story line for the season," said Julie.
"His entire journey had been, “I’m not worthy of you” and at the end of the season, as he’s dying, she tells him, “Yes, you are; you’re worthy.”
For her to be able to show that in a sweet kiss, telling him that she likes him the way he is and he doesn’t need to change for her, I thought was really important and a really nice ending to that journey.
"Of course, in their world, the end of any journey opens up the beginning of a whole lot of drama.
"There are a lot of complicated feelings attached to that moment, the biggest being that Stefan was off saving Damon’s life while Damon was confessing, yet again, his love for his brother’s girlfriend.
"There’s going to be a sense of obligation and guilt attached to it, but Damon does what Damon’s going to do.
For now, Elena’s boyfriend is gone, possibly dead, and Damon’s there as a friend trying to help her save Stefan, and anything can happen there."
Season three of Vampire Diaries begins with Elena's very eventful 18th birthday party, and Julie's remaining pretty mysterious about whether Stefan will be back for the event.

"When we come back, no one will have heard from him," she says.
"No one will have seen him and the audience won’t know where he’s been, and what he’s going through is going to be pretty surprising."
"One of the little big moments [in the episode] is wondering what Damon gives Elena for her birthday and if Stefan makes an appearance to blow out the candles on the cake."
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN.
Will you be watching? What do you think's gonna happen?
Will Stefan come back? Will he find Elena and Damon locked in a smooch?
