Paul Wesley's Wife Torrey DeVitto Set to Star in The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries will get a new cast addition to the show when it returns after its mid-season break on 5 January 2012. As stated in The Hollywood Reporter, Torrey Devitto, aka Mrs Paul Wesley will star in the show in season episodes 3.10 and 3.11. She will play Mary, a doctor who will be intrigued by Alaric's (Matt Davis) ability to return from the dead with the help of his magic ring, after she attends to him in hospital. There are rumours she may be cast in further episodes.

The couple tied the knot in NYC in April and Torrey sports a canary yellow diamond wedding ring. Torrey has peviously starred in One Tree Hill, Pretty Little Liars, as well as having guest starring roles in CSI:Miami (TV) and Castle. This news comes hot on the heels that Ian Somerhalder and co-star Nina Dobrev are officially an item.

Vampire Diaries Spoilers – Julie Plec Spills Season 3 Premiere Scoop

Have you found yourself wondering if Elena Gilbert will EVER have a birthday? I know I have. Well, TV Guide’s William Keck has the answer to that burning question. The answer is YES! He had a chance to catch up with Executive Producer Julie Plec, and she spills all the deets!

“There will be a small time jump [from where last season ended] as we celebrate Elena’s birthday,” says Plec. “But as is the pattern in Mystic Falls, the event never reaches its climax.” Elena will now be a senior in high school, but don’t bank on a season-ending graduation.

Now that she’s 18, “Elena and Jeremy technically don’t need a parent living in their house [following Aunt Jenna's death],” says Plec. “She will be taking care of herself.”

And on Elena’s feelings for Damon and a new vampire in town?

“Over the course of the season, Elena will be struggling with a deep, deep attraction toward Damon. That’s going to be a big problem for her.” As will Rebecca, a yet-to-be-cast vampire from Stefan’s “darkest ripper days who loves that Stefan’s back to his bad behavior.”

Nina Dobrev Is the Face of Puma’s Project Pink 2011

As one of Project Pink’s supporters, the Vampire Diaries star will appear in the program’s Public Service Announcement, act as a media spokesperson, make appearances in support of the initiative, and engage with fans throughout the season via her Twitter handle, @ninadobrev.

'Vampire Diaries': Ian Somerhalder Talks About His Romantic Side

Vampire Diaries is off the air until September, and that means it is time for some rest and relaxation for Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore on the hit series. The actor recently revealed his romantic side in an interview, and those that want a sneak peek into the man and his relationship with girlfriend Nina Dobrev, who co-stars with him on the series, should take note of what Somerhalder considers romance.

According to Sugarscape, Ian Somerhalder said the following about romance and his own idea of it: "I flew to Paris once just to have lunch with a girl and it was romantic and wonderful but then it ended like that [clicks his fingers]. It was romantic but it didn't go anywhere! I think real romance is something as simple as breakfast in bed. You can make even the smallest thing like that romantic it is just a matter of how you do it."

Sounds like he has the right idea. He was able to win over Nina Dobrev after all. The couple has been busy as of late. They were recently seen jetting into LAX for a photo shoot for season three of the season, and production on Vampire Diaries is set to begin this month. Ian said the following on his Twitter last night: "Wheels down-LALA.Much to do VD starting tomorrow!Night you awesome people!"

Vampire Diaries is promising a lot of twists and trusts in season three including the return of Anna and Vicki to haunt Jeremy. Right now, it looks like Ian is enjoying his downtime from production as best as he can.
