Despite indulging in a shopping trip at Century City mall while the rest of the population sit in an office, The Wizards of Waverly Place actress could barely raise a smile as she travelled Bieber-free.

The pretty 20-year-old still made an effort with her wardrobe choices despite not having the Baby singer in tow to impress, stepping out in fitted jeans and a pretty sheer cream blouse.

Her long dark locks were swept over her left shoulder as she emerged from the building with a friend.

While she may have been a little lovesick, it seems the 5ft 5in beauty actually has plenty to be pleased about.

The Hannah Montana actress dressed appropriately for her 19 years, going shopping in Hollywood wearing a playful navy polka dot mini dress.

Miley appeared to have just stumbled out of Coachella festival, with her ungroomed hair bundled atop of her head without any immaculate styling.

In keeping with the Californian weather, she also had a large pair of round sunglasses glued to her face to cover the make-up free zone.

Polishing off the outfit with comfortable footwear, Miley called upon her biker chick boots by rocking her leather buckled ankle-lengths.

While she clutched her iPhone for emergency tweeting, she carried the rest of her possessions in a chic tassel holdall.

Emma Watson 'insecure about her looks'

Speaking on the set of her latest shoot for i-D, Watson explained how she and the photographer Mariano Vivanco came up with the character of a French maid, which she had to portray.

She said: "This is the second time I've worked with Mariano. He's like my naughty big brother. We do our own thing, leave the world behind and go off to create and invent stuff together,"

"Being myself is a lot of pressure. I feel a lot more insecure being Emma than if I take on a character."

"I wore a little bit of everything for the shoot, including the beautiful Azzaro dress that I ended up wearing for the Lancôme event. Mariano was going crazy, chasing me around the garden, while I was pulling on different dresses and turning every which way.

She continued: "The more I do this, the more I learn what makes a photograph. I love fashion photography, I love partnering with photographers rather than sitting there like a vegetable."
