Perks of Being a Wallflower Release Date

Summit Entertainment has announced that Perks of Being a Wallflower will open September 14, 2012 in a limited release. Directed by Stephen Chbosky, author of the book by the same name, the movie stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Nina Dobrev and Paul Rudd. The first trailer for the film will debut during the MTV Movie Awards on June 3. 

 Emma will be presenting at this year’s MTV Movie Awards along with Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller. And she is nominated for three awards this year, including Best Female Performance, Best Cast, and Best Kiss with Rupert Grint for her work in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Voting is open through June 2.

Daniel Radcliffe felt very relieved when 'Woman in Black' did so well at the box office

When asked if he was relieved about the film's success, Daniel said: "Absolutely. Yeah, I've never known, really, what it's like to have a film come out where you feel a lot of pressure around the release. And obviously in 'Potter' it was always a question of how big the film was gonna be. So to have a film where you really don't know how it's going to do opening weekend and where you're being released with a load of other films and you haven't got that massively recognisable brand that obviously 'Potter'. had. So you're gonna have to scrap from recognition among those other films." 

Daniel also says it was very "gratifying" knowing audiences were starting to accept him playing other characters rather than Harry Potter. 

 He told Collider.com: "I think it's a testament to the quality of the movie that people not only went and saw it the first weekend but, particularly in the UK, went back for weeks and weeks to see it. And it was great, and for me personally, to see that people will still come out to support a film that I'm in that is not Harry Potter in that they did was just amazing. And I feel I worked hard on the film, both in the actual filming and then in the promotion of it, so it was lovely to see all that work rewarded. It was very gratifying, actually."

Tom Felton 'Flattered' By Emma Watson's Crush

Tom Felton has responded to Emma Watson's claims that the actor was her very first crush, reports Access Hollywood. Felton, who plays Harry Potter villain 'Draco Malfoy', said he was flattered upon hearing the news.

Speaking at the press conference for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' in New York City, the actor said, "Very flattering.We're going back a few years here. I heard it through the grapevine". Felton says he and Watson can "laugh about it now", adding, ".but as testament to how long we've been doing this for, I'm pretty sure she was about 9, possibly 10. but yeah, very flattering". The final instalment of the hugely popular movie franchise hits cinemas on 15th July 2011 and Tom said it's been tough leaving his character behind, saying, "It's weird saying goodbye to him. I haven't stepped into Draco's shoes now for over a year-and-a-half and I definitely miss him.He's very different from me, but he's a lot of fun to play. So it's sad to say goodbye to him". Felton, who attended the New York premiere of the final movie on Monday (11th July 2011) has appeared in all eight of the Potter movies.

Tom Felton is set to begin filming the war movie 'Grace and Danger', about allied soldiers who rescue a young woman from a village massacre. The film also stars Tom Sizemore and TOMMY FLANAGAN.

Emma Watson Heading To Oxford, Still Enrolled At Brown

As she wraps up her tenure as Hermione Granger, Emma Watson plans to go back to school -- but this time in the UK.

According to the Mirror, Watson will study at Oxford University's Worcester College this fall. Watson announced that she was leaving Brown University in Rhode Island earlier this year.

Sources at the school told the New York Daily News in April that Watson was often heckled and teased at Brown.

But the young star maintains that she hasn't officially dropped out of the school. "I'm going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year," she said at a Harry Potter press conference Monday, according to ABC Action News. "Just to explain, I haven't left Brown. I'm still enrolled at Brown, but I'm doing my third year abroad to study - at home."

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe 'fears fans on London Tube'

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says a fear of being mobbed means he cannot travel on the London Underground.

The 21-year old actor said as a result he does not know how to use the Tube's electronic Oyster card.

He told the Radio Times there is scene in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix where he tries to put the card though the gates instead of swiping it.

Even though it was a genuine mistake the clip was not edited out as it fitted Harry's character, he said.

"I don't take the Tube, because it can go a bit nuts, and if it goes nuts in a small space that can be a bit weird - so I don't know how to use an Oyster card," he told the magazine.

'Tripped up'
"In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix there's a shot of me and Mark Williams [Arthur Weasley] going through the gates at a Tube station and I try to put my Oyster card through the machine like it's a ticket, rather than swiping it."

Radcliffe, who has a home in London, said: "It's in the film! It makes total sense because of the character of Harry, but that was really by fluke.

"So I'm more likely to get tripped up by something like that, which to everybody else is totally normal."

The actor said of his future: "I'm never going to be as famous as I am today, or as I was a few years ago. That's all going to go away, and I'll be able to just get on with being an actor."

Stars of the Potter films were joined by thousands of fans for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, the final Potter movie, last week.

The film is on general release on Friday.

Graduation day for Emma

EMMA Watson is sad to leave Hogwarts, after spending more than half her life making the Harry Potter films, but is relishing a return to normality - and university - as LUCY CARNE reports from London

FOR the first time in her life Emma Watson is going to do what she really wants to do -- her laundry.

"It's the little things that keep you sane," she says, giggling.

"My mother says to me, 'Just put the washing on, lay it out, just do these little things. You're not always going to be staying in Claridge's'.

"Insisting I walk to the end of the road and buy my own cereal makes me feel normal.

"I have to be able to readjust back into reality and it is those little things that make the difference."

The world's most famous 21-year-old actor has finally reached the finish line of the phenomenal Harry Potter saga.

After 12 years and eight films in the $6.4 billion series of the bestselling J.K Rowling books, Watson is allowed to come back to the real world.

There has never been anything quite like it in cinematic history - three sweet-faced unknown nine-year-olds, with almost no acting experience, are thrust into the spotlight to grow up in front of millions of adoring fans across the world.

From that time on Watson's life has been in a converted factory in Watford outside London.

Within the walls of the nondescript building, Watson was Hermione Granger, the wise and loyal best friend of boy wizard Harry Potter, living within a fantastical land of flying broomsticks, Hogwarts school of magic and battles with the Dark Lord Voldemort.

Now Watson just wants to lose herself in the ordinary life of a college dorm at Oxford. But she says it is a "bittersweet" experience to bid goodbye finally to her magical existence.

"It's been 12 years of my life and an amazing 12 years and change for anyone is scary," she says.

"At the same time it was really exciting for me to watch the last film and think wow, I've really learnt something.

"But I knew the ending was coming for a long time and I felt kind of numb.

"It was when they said 'that's a wrap for Emma' and the crew was clapping and it hit me like a steam train.

"It was in that moment that I really realised. That film studio was my childhood. That was where I grew up.

"I went to school there, I ate there, played there -- it was everything. It was my world. I am so sad to leave."

World premiere

It's the eve of the world premiere in London and it is clear Watson's life is still a whirlwind.

She is dressed in a stunning dusty-pink beaded Valentino dress. That, paired with her pixie hair cut and diamond earrings, makes her look like a stunning magical spirit from the 1920s.

Outside her London hotel the footpaths are filling.

Watson remains calm in the madness but her lips are tight and her eyes are strained.

In her face you can see she is questioning - will the pressure ever end?

It is a scene removed from Watson's very first day on set.

She can clearly recall slowly walking into the studio and being confronted by the steaming Hogwarts Express train.

It was a poignant first sight of the wild ride that lay ahead.

"That whole film went by in a flash because I was so pumped up on adrenalin, nerves and excitement," she says.

But despite her warm regards for her Potter past, Watson says she would be reluctant to let her own daughter go through the same ordeal.

"No, I probably wouldn't," she says.

"If I had a daughter and she really, really wanted to do it, then I would have to make sure I was with her.

"I wouldn't stop her doing anything she really wanted to do, but I would make sure she had the supportive family around her like I did. I was very fearful and there were times I was very anxious.

"When you sign on for something like this, and keep signing on, to a 10 and 11 year old, to imagine how you are going to spend the next 10 years of your life, making that kind of commitment seems really scary.

"You definitely have to find your voice. You have to say when enough is enough.

"Luckily, my parents brought me up to not be afraid to speak my mind and be honest.

"My mum has always said I've got grit, which has been very helpful."

Friends for life

Hovering over Watson and her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) has been a constant expectation that they would crack under the pressure of being superstars at such a young age.

There is an obvious pattern - from Lindsay Lohan to Tatum O'Neal, Corey Feldman and Charlotte Church - for child stars to struggle and eventually derail.

The Harry Potter trio have surprised sceptics by emerging from the motion picture monolith grounded, intelligent and happy.

"You start working and are put under a lot of pressure when you are very young," Watson says.

"But the fact that we weren't part of Hollywood, we made these films in the same studio, with the same crew and same cast, we were very much in our own bubble.

"I wasn't aware of the film industry or even the media. We were in this abandoned warehouse in Watford in the middle of nowhere. It was a bubble that was very protective.

"I think we've all been lucky in that sense and that we've had each other.

"Very often there will be a child doing an adult movie on their own and they won't have that support."

There is an intense, almost sibling-like bond between Watson, Radcliffe and Grint. In online footage of the last day of filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, the trio gasp and are seen hugging.

A sobbing Radcliffe thanked his family, but Watson and Grint were too emotional to speak.

The trio plan to support each other for the rest of their lives, Watson says.

"When all of this dies down, maybe in a year or two years, that is when we will need each other the most," she explains.

Of the three stars, Watson seems to have been the most level-headed.

"I've had the most incredible opportunity and everything comes with a price.

"Fame was never something I ever aspired to and it's not something I aspire to now really.

"That side of things is not appealing to me, but it comes with doing what I love and I've had the most incredible experience.

"I wouldn't trade the fact I've been part of these films for anything."

As Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter's great rival, Tom Felton is terrifying with parchment skin and platinum-blond hair.

But in the flesh, Felton, 23, is funny and charming and his hair is light brown. After filming finished, he was allowed to get a tan. For 10 years he has been wearing factor 50 to preserve his ghost-white complexion.

He is officially the sexiest Potter actor. Emma Watson, 21, admitted last week she fell for him when she was 11: "He was my first crush. He totally knows. We talked about it - we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that's cool."

When I quiz Felton today, he says it was more a brother-sister relationship: "It was nine years ago. We were quite different in age group, and it's nice that we've been good friends ever since, and we've always been able to look back and laugh. It's a true sign of how long we've actually been spending time with each other, and how we've grown up together."

In fact he confesses his screen crush is Helena Bonham Carter, who plays his aunt Bellatrix in the films. "She is completely unique, an English rose with a crazy twist. She wears vintage French clothing and she's very cheeky. Off the set it's all hugs and darlings, then when the camera starts rolling she turns into a complete psycho. It's amazing to watch."

In real life, Felton has been with girlfriend Jade Olivia, 23, for four years (they met on Harry Potter where she was working as a stunt co-ordinator's assistant). She has a cameo in the final film, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, where we get a flash-forward to what all the characters look like in 19 years' time. Jade plays Astoria Greengrass - Draco's wife. "We had to slightly twist her arm. She'd rather be behind the camera."

Felton admits there were tears on the last day of filming. "It was very British, very awkward. No one knew what to say or do."

He initially auditioned for the role of Harry, losing out to Radcliffe. "People think there must be jealousy but there honestly isn't, because no one could touch the part that he plays; not just for the acting but all the other stuff he has to deal with."

This week Radcliffe talked frankly about giving up alcohol when he realised the pressures of fame were making him dependent on whisky and partying.

It's a typically brave gesture, says Felton. "I've always been very proud of Daniel. I confess to having no knowledge of his drinking whatsoever, this is all news to me. But Daniel is always someone who's outspoken and fairly keen to get his message across, so I think it's great he's willing to talk about things like that. He's a massive inspiration to millions of kids across the world, he's always been wise beyond his years."
