Miley Cyrus fights through heartache

Five years is basically a lifetime in pop music, a fact that Miley Cyrus knows well and has used to her advantage. The last time she played at TD Garden, in 2009 to another sold-out crowd, Cyrus came to town at something of a crossroads. She was distancing herself from the brand that made her a star, the Disney TV show “Hannah Montana,” but still hadn’t emerged as the hell-raiser she would soon become.

When she returned Wednesday night, she arrived supersized: more raunch, more attitude, more confidence, more hits. It was like seeing an entirely different performer, this one more at home in her own skin (and showing plenty of it) and quite clear that she doesn’t give a damn. This is Miley Cyrus rebooted, take it or leave it.

Except what was supposed to be an all-out party, as it has been on previous tour stops, turned into a very public (and touching) display of catharsis. One of Cyrus’s dogs, Floyd, had died the day before, and the 21-year-old pop star couldn’t hide her heartache. She apologized and asked the audience to help her make it through the night.

“Your responsibility is to get me through, I think, the hardest day of my entire life,” she said to a crowd that answered her plea in the form of deafening screams.

On with the show. Sort of. Sadness hung in the air even as Cyrus tried to shoo it away with heavy doses of swagger: “Can’t Be Tamed,” “Do My Thang,” “FU.” This tour also runs on shock value, and there were plenty of antics to make a concerned mother clutch her pearls, including Miley simulating oral sex on someone dressed as Abraham Lincoln and a video of her writhing while wrapped in bondage. Kids – they grow up so fast these days.

The excess was in line with Cyrus’s latest album, “Bangerz,” but it also obscured the simple fact that she’s a competent singer who could occasionally make more with less spectacle. An acoustic set, on a makeshift stage erected at the back of the Garden, proved especially tough for Cyrus, with songs by Bob Dylan (“You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go”), Lana Del Rey (“Summertime Sadness”), and Coldplay (“The Scientist”) tugging at her heartstrings as the camera captured tears rolling down her cheeks.

She saved the best for last, hitting hard with her three biggest hits. “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball” doubled as thunderous singalongs, but “Party in the U.S.A.” felt out of sync on such a somber night. It was a poignant reminder that entertainers have feelings, too, no matter how indestructible they claim to be.

Selena Gomez Talks About Her Secret Vacation With Taylor Swift

Selena Gomez was recently interviewed by Bellingham Herald and talked about her vacation with Taylor Swift. The interview basically about her new movie Monte Carlo, so lots of questions about how she relates to her 2 roles in real life. You can read the full interview at their website.
Selena does talk about at lease 2 vacations she had that stick out in her mind. One includes her new BFF Taylor. She also talks about traveling and being alone while traveling as well. It is a must read for those who are mega fans of Selena.
I am glad that she had a real interview that was about her movie, role and future. Stars hardly ever get that kind of interviews anymore. So it is nice break for her and her fans. I do wonder if she will start getting more serious interviews now that her Disney days are over? That would be good news for her, but at the same time it does mean her career is taking a new path.
Anyways, here is her quote about her 2 most memorable vacations.
There have been many. Unfortunately, I get to go to these beautiful places, but I never get to go with my friends. I’m always with my mom – which is nice, don’t get me wrong! But of course, I do want to have that one big trip with my friends. One trip I do remember in particular is going to Nashville, Tenn. During the time, I was just overwhelmed, and Taylor (Swift) was like, “You should come to Nashville.” So I got on a plane, went to Nashville for the weekend, and it was awesome. I stayed at her house and just vegged out, and it was really good for me to get away.
Another time that I remember was while I was filming ‘Monte Carlo.’ The whole cast went to Monte Carlo, and I flew out my best friend and my cousin Priscilla. Me, Katie, Leighton and my friends laid out on the beach. Even though I was working, it still felt like a good getaway.

Smiley Miley Cyrus vamps up for Perth finale

THE world's youngest billionaire celebrity packed out Burswood Dome last night with a finale fitting of a teen queen.
Miley Cyrus, 18, thrilled her Perth fans with the concert marking the last leg of her Gypsy Heart Tour.
Dressed in short, tight shorts, knee-high boots, a sequined bra and a sparkling jacket, Cyrus opened with a laser-lit version of her hit Liberty Walk.
The vamped-up superstar attracted a diverse crowd - from pre-teens to Gold Coast Suns star Gary Ablett and his girlfriend Lauren Phillips, who also danced to support act Michael Paynter from Melbourne.
Cyrus's set drew on covers from '90s grunge rockers Nirvana, '80s Goth-pop of The Cure to '70s supergroup Fleetwood Mac.
But she told her young fans her music was exclusively for them.
She broke into her smash-hit song Party In the USA after throwing off her jacket, before telling her Perth fans the concert would be special because it was the tour's finale."Thankyou guys so much, this is our last night on our Gypsy Heart Tour. We want this night to be extra loud," she said.
Girls as young as six were out of their seats and rocking to a mash-up of I Love Rock 'n' Roll, Cherry Bomb and Bad Reputation.
Dancers performed ballet during the song Obsessed, while Cyrus proved her live singing ability.
The crowd went wild when she sang chart-topper Can't Be Tamed, before another costume change into a glittering bra under a flowing blue gown.
Then came the song everyone had been waiting for, The Climb.
Cyrus, born Destiny Hope, has an estimated fortune of about $1 billion.
Her performing career took off in 2006 with the Disney Hannah Montana TV series, in which she played the alter ego of a schoolgirl and undercover pop star.
In Perth on Friday, Cyrus was seen having lunch with two friends in Subiaco. But there was no sign of her beau, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, who has joined her on the other stops of her Aussie tour, along with her mother, Tish.

Jun 22, 2011
Singer Katy Perry is looking forward to the end of her current tour so she can resume drinking booze and binging on junk food.
The pop star is taking her California Dreams tour seriously and has cut out alcohol and coffee, embarking on a strict dietary regime to ensure her voice is in top form on stage.
Perry has been craving wine and is adamant she will revert back to her wild ways when the tour wraps up later this year.
She tells Britains Daily Star, "Im pretty boring on the road because I save it all for the stage, so Im on a strict vitamin diet. But when the tour is over Im going to be a devil and hit a wild streak. Ill be face down in the porcelain.
"I cant eat spicy food or dairy because theyre bad for your voice. I cant even do coffee. So youll find me staring at the white wine in the fridge backstage."

Teen storms Miley Cyrus concert

An Australian teen has caused an internet sensation after being accused of "attacking" Miley Cyrus at the pop star’s Melbourne concert. Video by YouTube user josephmccarthy93.

An Australian teenager has caused an internet sensation after being accused of "attacking" Miley Cyrus at the pop star's Melbourne concert.
But the girl's sister told The Courier yesterday that her sister was simply a devoted fan and just wanted to get closer to the teen superstar.
The incident occurred just after Cyrus had finished her chart-topping hit The Climb to a packed house at Rod Laver Arena on Friday.
While Cyrus was waving to fans out on a catwalk, Jessica Hetherington, 16, from Ballarat north-west of Melbourne leapt onto the stage, ran up to Cyrus and tried to pull her into a hug.
Security immediately grabbed the young fan and escorted Cyrus off the stage in scenes reminiscent of a secret-service presidential escort.
The online community immediately went into meltdown, with some web sites labelling the incident an "attack", while others stated the Ballarat girl "rushed" the pop star.
Gossip website hollywoodlife.com boldly proclaimed Cyrus had been "attacked by a fan".
"Lucky for Miley, security was there to quickly, and somewhat aggressively, take the fan down and get Miley off the stage," the site said.
Last night, the video of the escapade featured at the top of the "music section" on YouTube.
Jessica's older sister, Casey, said she was proud of her sister for "having the guts" to give Cyrus a hug.
"When Jess was little, as soon as she started liking Miley she said she would give her a hug when she met her - so I say good on her," Casey said. "It's been blown right out of proportion."
Casey said her sister was disappointed with some of the comments angry fans had directed towards her.
"There's stuff on Miley's Facebook saying that Jess was a troubled and disobedient girl," she said.
"It's just completely wrong - after the show one of the security guards gave her a high-five."
"I'm sure there are plenty of other girls who want to hug Miley but don't have the guts."

Miley Cyrus Attacked On Stage At Melbourne Concert!

Breaking News: Just minutes ago teen superstar Miley Cyrus was noticeably shaken up after being tackled by an overexcited fan at her concert in Melbourne, Australia.

During the final chords of 'The Climb' an unidentified female fan ran across the face of the stage to the far side where Miley was standing, and attempted to tackle her from behind. Miley was knocked forward but managed to keep her footing, while security pounced on her attacker and aggressively took her away.

Miley was held in the arms of her bodyguard and taken off stage with her back turned, looking pretty freaked out about what had happened.

After an anxious wait, Miley returned to the stage and joked "I've never been so thankful for my crazy fans."

"She jumped from the very back row all the way to the front of the stage and tackled me!"

Miley managed to get through the set and despite the actions of one stupid fan... was able to finish off the set in blistering fashion. A true professional.

Young fan rushes Miley Cyrus onstage

A young Miley Cyrus fan managed to run onstage and grab the singer during her concert in Melbourne.
The girl ran up behind Cyrus and grabbed her shoulder before being wrangled offstage by a security guard at Rod Laver Arena on Friday night, TMZ reports.
The 18-year-old former Hannah Montana star had been in the middle of singing her hit song 'The Climb'.
She looked shocked and said "oh my god" into the microphone before the security guard quickly led the intruder offstage.
Cyrus reportedly spent the night before the show with her Australian boyfriend Liam Hemsworth at his family's home on Phillip Island, the Herald Sunreports.
The couple stayed with Hemsworth's parents Leoni and Craig and Cyrus's mother Tish before they all flew to Melbourne for Friday's Gypsy Heart show in a helicopter.
The security scare comes after fellow pop star Justin Bieber was pelted in eggs during his Sydney concert in April.
The 17-year-old didn't miss a beat and carried on like a true professional as the eight eggs hit the stage.

Taylor swift behind the scenes tour video

Taylor Swift has been busy with her world tour and she is ready to share what it is like behind the scenes. She allowedM magazine to follow her behind one of her recent tour stops in Europe. You will find the video of it located at the bottom of this post.
Taylor has been known as one of the few stars who still uses social media as a big part of her job. While having a magazine follow and film you does count for something. It may be the second best thing than actually following her in person. It cannot replace the real deal, but at least it does provide us an idea of what it like for her or any star,
I love the fact that Taylor wants to keep her fans in the loop. It seems so important to her to provide her fans little odds and ends of her life or personality. I really think she could teach most of todays stars a thing or 2 about sharing with fans. She knows how to keep her personal details away from the spotlight and still keep her fans in the loop. I am not sure how she does it, but she does a fabulous job at keeping the balls in the air

Miley Cyrus concert smells like teen spirit, of a kind

DURING the past 18 months, Australian audiences have been treated to performances by the three biggest tween sensations on the planet: Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and now Miley Cyrus.
It's Cyrus who is working hardest to shrug off the tag, with her new material going toe to toe with the likes of Britney and Beyonce for pop supremacy.
Opening her concert with Liberty Walk, the 18-year-old embraces her post Hannah Montana life with a strut that won't be sanctioned by Disney. Thigh-high boots, leather shorts, killer heels and a black bustier set the visual tone as Cyrus rocks out with a band that includes a twin guitar attack, bass, drums, keys and two backing vocalists.
The on-stage ensemble is fleshed out by an army of dancers busting out choreographed moves as Cyrus hits a groove more in common with the late 1980s LA glam rock scene than the gloss of contemporary pop.

Emma Watson overwhelmed by Chanel tour

Emma Watson found it "overwhelming" being shown around Coco Chanel's apartment.
The 'Harry Potter' actress was flown out to Paris by the French fashion label ahead of a film premiere and was given the VIP treatment, which included seeing where label's founder and fashion icon lived her glamorous life.
She said: "My most glamorous moment was probably when Chanel flew me to Paris to try on premiere outfits. It was ridiculous - I went around Coco Chanel's apartment! I found that really overwhelming."
Despite going to many premieres over the years, Emma hasn't got bored of choosing outfits and knows when she's found the right one.
She said: "It's really weird, you just know when you've got the dress on. I'm like, right that's it, no need to look any more, this is the one."
Last year, the 21-year-old beauty cut her long hair into a pixie crop but admits her father wasn't initially impressed.
She said: "My dad was like, 'Don't get carried away, you're not Audrey Hepburn yet.' But he loves it now, so he's eating his words."
